R22C Recording Pack

Well, have tried the latest Focusrite and Komplete and you'd think they would have been great, wrong, drivers were a nightmare to configure for windows 10, trying to get either of them to work properly was painful. Both went back after spending hours trying the many fixes on youtube and forums. Finally, this beast just worked straight out of the box. It's built like a tank and the driver installed quickly, no issues whatsoever and everything works perfectly. Sound quality is great, admittedly a little noise if I have the mic too high but voice and guitar sounds crystal. Very pleased and finally enjoying messing around in FL Studio.

For the money you pay for this it is quality. I was looking at many computer audio recording devices and decided to buy one. Before I was using an Alesis 8 track mixer, and the sound quality was getting worse with a permanent hissing sound in the background on recordings. I brought this to replace it and I am glad I did, the sound quality is clear, and it works very well with Cubase 10.5. When I installed it to work with the DAW it gave me some extra reverb sound effects and compressors which are a great addition.

Comes with a download code for Cubase. The interface's sound quality is excellent and you can play VST instruments in realtime if you use and tune the Yamaha drivers (and your cpu is up to the task). Works great with my 90's MIDI gear and very stable with my Ryzen 5 laptop.

The product is great and works wonderfully with a great sound quality. However the instructions for getting it up and running with my new iMac were, misleading and therefore very confusing and hugely frustrating; to the point where my Mac came close to getting punched in the screen. Twice.

The absolute best quality audio interface that money can buy. Coming from a focusrite 2i2 - this beats it in every single way and more. Considering all the extra features you get in the dsp software - it's also great value for money.

I bought this interface as a new product, damaged box, so that’s what I expected to arrive. When it arrived I was surprised that the packaging was in good condition, that’s when this got problematic. The interface itself is great, it’s in perfect condition and works well, it’s a great option as it’s robust and has the ability to be powered via a usb power bank which it amazing if you want to use it away from home. It arrived with 4 software codes, these are, 1, to register the interface itself, 2, to install Cubase AI LE the DAW, 3, to install the basic fx software 4, to add Steinberg plus which is some additional functionality for cubase. Unfortunately when I attempted to use these the codes for the basic fx suite and the Steinberg plus had already been used. I informed Amazon who would have accepted a return, however as a replacement wasn’t available for several months I decided to try Steinberg support first. The issue was raised to them the same day and it’s now 3 weeks later and I still haven’t received any response, not even an acknowledgment. The contact number is international as they are based in Germany, it’s only available for 2 hours a day and currently is permanently unavailable due to “an incident”. I have managed to register the hardware and Cubase, I eventually managed to get a working code for the basic fx suite thanks to help from the user forum. So I’m up and running but it’s been a trauma. Problems aside the registration process is confusing and convoluted, they have two licensing systems, one is currently being replaced with a account based system but currently both have to used, there is no detail as to which you need to use for each code, and in addition you need to register the old license system within the new system to get anything to function, TBH it’s awful. So now I’m actually setup what’s it like to use? It actually really good, the hardware is great, the basic software is ok once you sort inputs and outputs, it also has an iOS version of the basic software so it can be used with an iPhone or IPad which again allows anywhere functionality. Cubase LE is a learning curve for anyone new to it but there’s tons of free training available online. The sound quality it great also, perhaps the most important thing at the end of the day. Would I recommend? Well that’s a tough question, I wouldn’t want to struggle with dodgy codes again, the registration process is really not great but the hardware works well. The biggest disappointment has been the total lack of response from the manufacturer, for me that is unforgivable and if I’d have known that at the start I would have returned the device to Amazon but now I’ve registered everything I’ve decided to stick with it, hopefully I won’t live to regret it.

Great audio interface. Sturdy and solid build. Great intro pack of kit too (wish it had desk stand in oack for mic). Best for me was Cubase basic license, which can (at the moment) be upgraded to Cubase pro for very cheap! Love the pack and great starter to pro level.

Good build, easy to use, sounded great... however when plugging in a microphone (whether it had 48V phantom power or not) and turned the monitor mix dial to 'DAW' it produced a distorted sound which made the product unusable. This happened when setup to a iPad Pro (2020 model with USB-C connection). Tried it with/without a Apple Camera Kit... with/without routing it through a USB-C data thru hub but still had the same issues. I updated the firmware which made no difference. I saw on news feeds that other people are having similar issues. Steinberg know about this issue and are working on a fix. I really wish that manufacturers would test their products properly. I sent this unit back and ordered a Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 3rd gen! Shame really, I liked the quality of this audio interface but it didn't do the job. I liked that fact it could be bus powered... or powered by USB mains... and the monitoring can be mixed from input to DAW... something that the Focusrite can't do. Lets hope that the Focusrite works OK!

Parfait pour moi, mais je ne suis pas un grand technicien du son. Parfaitement adapté à mon Cubase.

Trotzdem überwiegt der positive Eindruck, und nach kurzer Eingewöhnung ist das UR22C ein zuverlässiges Werkzeug für Aufnahmen auf professionellem Niveau. Fazit: Ein absolut empfehlenswertes Interface, das in puncto Soundqualität und Funktionalität kaum Wünsche offenlässt.

Top Produkt. Zu dem Preis ein absolutes Schnäppchen. Die Verarbeitung ist super und die Abwicklung lief reibungslos. Auch die Lieferzeit war perfekt!

Non è il primo prodotto dedicato all'home recording che acquisto e regalo e mi sono diretto su questo articolo per l'ottimo rapporto qualità/prezzo che in genere Steinberg offre. É imballato perfettamente e consegnato nei tempi previsti da Amazon. PRO É il prodotto più completo nella sua fascia di prezzo. Offre due ingressi microfonici, ingresso alta impedenza, ingresso/uscita MIDI, uscita jack per connettere altoparlanti tramite cavo di linea. Insomma...è completa, davvero completa, e si sostituisce questo prodotto solo per avere più ingressi o uscite non per mancanza di funzioni. Inoltre Steinberg, anche sul suo prodotto entry level, offre processamenti in insert a latenza zero (es: riverbero) sugli ingressi della scheda audio. É possibile decidere se alimentare la scheda audio con il cavo di connessione al PC, oppure con corrente esterna al cavo di collegamento. L'alimentatore non è incluso in confezione, ma va detto che è un normalissimo 5V 0.9a quindi anche l'alimentatore di uno smartphone va benissimo! Tutto questo per descrivere caratteristiche hardware, ma c'è anche un pacchetto software ben nutrito e una versione base del loro programma Cubase. CONTRO - Il volume di uscita del preamplificatore cuffie è basso. Non sono in possesso di altre schede alimentate via USB, ma in generale si sente l'esigenza di più volume. - La gestione dell'ingresso mono/stereo e del direct monitoring non è di facile intuitività. Questi parametri sono completamente analogici e passivi, si può fare solo con i tasti e i pomelli presenti in scheda. Mi rendo conto che avere un controllo completo equivale ad avere più circuiteria e un altro prodotto di altra fascia, ma mi sentivo di segnalarlo per i più esigenti. CONCLUSIONE Assolutamente consigliata!
