Aces for camping or road tripping
Picture 1: Shows it fitting perfectly around a 2017 Chrysler Pacifica mini van. Love it so much that I will buy a 2nd one in case this one wears out and this company is not around for a replacement. It is very well made and it is a fast, one-person assembly ONCE you figure it out!Picture 2: Shows me laying in the mini van looking our into the big room.Picture 3 is looking out the big window at the stream running along side my tent.I like the height, and at 8' tall by 8 x 8 floor space, I can stand up, change clothes or lay in it and do all my yoga. If I zip all the screens up it is 100% privacy. 2 doors with windows/screens and the other 2 sides are also big windows with screens. Great ventilation.I have found that I've not needed to stake down the outside of the tent because I just set heavy water bottles in each corner on the inside of the tent and lay down a heavy 6 x 8 rug.I purchased an 8 x 8' tent base from REI and lay that under the tent. I often assemble the tent on the driveway of a campsite. The thickness and the way the tent base repels tree debris was worth the REi upgrade and will likely extend the life of the floor of the tent.Regarding fit: With the elastic they use plus their custom fit, all edges seal up to the back of my vehicle without any gaps, so it keeps the bugs out well. Made with SOFT material, so unless the car is dusty, it should not scratch. But if you love your paint, you might want one of those soft car dusters to take off any dust before you attach. If I want to drive away and leave the tent set up behind me, it takes 1 minute to detach and seal up the tent with the nifty window with a screen that the tail gate fits into. You can see how it fits around the rig from picture #4. It is easy to back it back up into the hole, lift tailgate and reattach.Only downside, which was mentioned before is the cheap holding bag. I found a water proof fishing gear bag held the tent perfectly and I could then place the entire tent on my rooftop and not worry about rain or road debris while in transit. I used to have a Coleman instant tent about this size that I used for a camping and as a screen house if it was buggy outside. I liked it but it was it was twice the size when stored, partly because of the bulky pole system. This tent can work in the same manner with the bonus that it extends your vehicles space for car camping. I'm thrilled with the purchase although it may not last 10 years like my Coleman did just because this tent it is lighter weight fabric and poles all around.

After 3 years of use it's still going strong
I have been using this tent for 3 years with my Honda CR-V. I use it when I am going to be out camping for one or two days as it is small and compact and easyish to setup. I have used in all seasons and it's always held up for me.Pros:1. Compact and easy to travel with. The tent bag is no larger than a duffle bag for a gym.2. Can zip up the hatch area and detach to go off and explore your camping area.3. When anchored with tent spikes, it holds up to wind gusts and sideways rain no problem.4. Tent floor is a heavy duty rubber so it works well at keeping the tent floor dry and waterproof.Cons:1. The tent poles connecting brackets get caught in the tent pole fabric really easy and it makes the poles catch. This causes you to take longer to get the poles unstuck so you can run the pole through the wholes and get setup or take down.2. The rain guard doesn't fit all the way over the hatch and when it rains, you get rain water dripping from the hatch area and alongside the car which is not ideal.3. side doors open in so there is no way to use the door as an awning.Overall: It' is worth the money and you just need to work out the rain issue if you are going to use this tent all year round.

Great roomy tent
Great, roomy tent!! I had some difficulty assembling it but a large part of that was down to doing it by myself as well as the winds coming off of the water at my campsite. There’s a part in the instructions that tells you not to stake it until it’s entirely together, but I had to stake one side before I could put the other side up because it kept blowing over. So...if you’re going by yourself be prepared to call various pieces of camping equipment in to be used as weights. My cooler and plastic storage tote worked well, lol. I didn’t put the rainfly on because it would’ve been extremely difficult for me to do by myself with the tent upright but I wasn’t concerned because the weather didn’t call for rain while I was camping. It did end up sprinkling just a little bit but the tent stayed dry, even without the rainfly. It was easy to attach to the back of my car (a Nissan Rogue). In fact, that was the easiest part of the whole process.Inside, it is very spacious and tall. I am 5’7” and I was essentially able to stand upright in it (again why the rainfly was going to be tricky). It was very nice having access to my car’s rear charging ports as well as a place to stick my cooler where I could access it easily and also not have it directly under the hot Key West sun.The stakes...well the stakes left something to be desired. The ground where I was camping was not very soft and the stakes started bending when I was hammering them in. I bought some thick, heavy duty stakes at the campground store which worked much better. I’d advise anybody purchasing this tent to consider purchasing sturdier stakes, especially if you know the ground where you are pitching your tent is not soft.I would also advise paying close attention to how the tent is packed so that you can repack it, haha. When packing up at the site, I couldn’t fit the rainfly or the poles/stakes back in the bag. When I got home and could repack it (with help and with no wind) we still were only able to get the tent and poles/stakes in the bag. The poor rainfly was left out. I bought a large rolling duffle that is able to accommodate the tent (as I repacked it), the rainfly, my air mattress, and all of my other camping accoutrements aside from my sleeping bag. If packing as neatly as the manufacturer is not your strong suit, I’d also recommend that. The bag is just not roomy enough to get everything in without perfect packing skills. All in all, this tent provides an outstanding value for the money. I can’t wait to go camping with it again!
