S&B Layu, Chili Oil, 1.11 fl oz

This is some delicious chili oil. It looks, tastes, and smells exactly as expected. The heat is what you would expect from Asian chili oil (it’s not fire, but I only used a few drops). Even though it comes in a smaller bottle, it packs a mighty punch, so I think it will last a long time, so I think it is a great value. It also has a nice top that prevents spills by allowing you to press down for how much you want, which is a plus. Usually I make a mess with, but not this time! Lol I made dipping sauce for my gyoza using this oil, rice vinegar, low-sodium soy sauce, a pinch of sugar, and some sesame seeds. Quick and yummy. I highly recommend.

I've tried so many different brands of chili oil, and always crawl my way back to this. No other brand I've found has the delicious sesame flavor and heat level that this brand has. Great value for the money - this little bottle will last you a while, even if you use it every day. It's great to add into cooking, and easy to use with the little press button to release the oil. I always have some leakage when I first open the bottle, but usually once the flip top is screwed into place, this leaks far less than any other oil bottle. This is likely the only oil I'll buy for the rest of my life, now that I've convinced myself that others don't hold a candle.

Cute and functional little dispenser bottle; however, the oil inside is not very hot at all. I could barely detect that there was even chili within the oil. I went ahead and added a couple of Thai bird peppers in there, and that actually works to spice it up works to spice it up (and they seem to be preserved by the oil, so they don't really get nasty in there). The oil has a nice flavor, and is really good LIGHTLY used on things like raw cabbage with black sesame seed and seaweed flakes. Also great to season fish skin (eg, trout, salmon, sea bass) before microwaving into chips between parchment.

If you've had this before, it is exactly what you'd expect. And if you are eating ramen, udon, etc, chili oil is really a big part of filling out that flavor. It's perfect.

I add this to anything that needs a little bit of chili heat to it.It's very easy to use.Just add a couple drops as needed, be it a hot or cold dish.The flavor is very good.Try this in soups, ramen, noodles, etc.It's also very good at spicing up take out when it feels a bit bland.This does not last long in my house, and I am glad Amazon carries it because I can't find it locally.

Ordered four, and they came in a rather large brown envelope with zero cushioning to keep them from shaking around and slamming against each other. By some miracle they didn't shatter! Tastes great, but yall crazy for packin' em like that.

I first tried it when a friend brought it as a gift from her visit to Japan. It made my mouth dance in happiness. I add this to any Asian dish to spruce it up and it makes a huge difference in the dish. All you need is a couple of drops and you’re gtg. I was extremely happy to find it on Amazon and have been buying it online for the past 5 years.

It's been a long time since I have seen this product, and then recently I went to a little Ramen House in Costa Mesa, and there it was. It reminded me how much I loved it in Soba and Ramen, and was what was missing from my home cooked versions.It was just perfect amount of punch for my Ramen - and gives some good flavor to Miso Soba.The chili oil product works best in soups, Ramen and Soba. It has a good texture/consistency not gritty, and just a bit of heat. My friends like the dispenser which allows for drop control for portions.
