This piston assembly is what I needed to get my ten-year-old Wagner power sprayer working again. The trouble is that the darn things wear out so quickly. I have a 300 foot-long six foot high wooden fence that I sprayed with a latex stain that was paint-like in consistency. Both sides of the fence needed to be sprayed; it takes about 12 gallons of stain to cover the entire thing. I completely wore out one piston by the time I was 7/8ths done with the job, making me glad I had ordered two pistons just to be on the safe side. The design of the paint sprayer is a bit flawed in my opinion, and this piston is part of that problem. The chrome finish wears off of the metal part you see in the picture, and the friction levels go up to the point where it starts binding in the bore, causing the unit to spit and spatter paint. This replacement unit was no better nor worse than the piston that came with the sprayer from the factory. Buy two, just in case.
