Internal Affairs (DVD)Dennis Peck knows his way around the law. He can launder money, run a sc am, fix a bad rap. He can even, for the right price, around a murder. "T rust me," he says, "I'm a cop." Richard Gere is Peck and Andy Garcia is Raymond Avila, the investigator determined to br ing Peck to justice in this supercharged police thriller. Peck isn't going down without a fight . The slick, cold-blooded manipulator intends to take Avila's career, h is marriage, even his sanity with him in Internal Affairs. "A fine tight script," says Gary Frankl in (KABC-TV). "Two thumbs up!" say Siskel & E bert. Trust them.]]>

Richard Gere, enough said!
It amazes me Richard Here’s’ range as an actor throughout his career, you definitely cannot say he is type cast. I mean he’s had gray hair his entire career and that never stopped him from everything acting like a 12 year old kid who never grew up and was into comic books, or as a kick butt corrupt officer with ZERO scruples about any type of bad behavior “Above the Law” while commanding complete control. He just historical, nuff said!

Topnotch Acting
Superb across the board. The contrast of Garcia and Grere is a huge reason to watch films in the first place. This has Shakespearean undertones all around. Eyes were glued and my heart was racing. Garcia's sidekick was phenomenal.

Not bad
My favorite scene was when Richard Gere was caught having a sexual affair with his friend's wife and he just smiled and kept going.

Enjoyed this movie
It's not the best I have ever seen, but it's got some interesting things going on. It definitely makes you hate Richard Gere...er...the crooked cop! haha

Memorable Police Thriller with A List Performances
This intense police thriller really impressed me. These kind of movies have died out recently but this onereally grabs your attention. This role did not quite fit Gere in my opinion but it was a convincingperformance. Garcia really gave a stunning performance and is an underrated actor for sureThe ending left much to be desired and turned out to be a bloody violent film from start to finishUnfortunately there were many unresolved elements of the plot the viewer needs clarificationWould definitely recommend it for the cop drama enthusiast who appreciates intense acting andis not afraid of graphic violence

Recommend
A steamy thriller. Excellent acting coupled with a rather predictable plot.

Solid
Saw this movie at the movies when it first came out when my friends watched another movie. Liked it then and like it now. The music elevated the suspense. This is good acting, direction, and a battle of wit. Richard Gere's character has Andy Garcia on the ropes until Garcia calms down and gets back to his cool self. Good one.

How Good Is Gere
Mike Figgis shows us in Internal Affairs how to make the best of Richard Gere. Internal Affairs looks excellent on DVD. As for the disc all there is, is a chapter index and a scene selection option. However dont be put of. In this Gere simply oozes meace as he prowls his scenes alternating between glib, manipulative, loving and murderous. His palpable charm flows as he woos and intimidates his way through this often forgotten nineties gem. He is matched by a stellar performance from Andy Garcia whose character morphs from smooth career cop to tetchy, manic, jealous husband. Perhaps a bit to quickly for my liking. Its a struggle to think of a better Gere performance than this. Some poor choices of roles has seen his star dim over the years but if you want to see him at his best, give this film a look.

ok
Its not a bad film but whether its a case of Richard Gere being miscast as the dodgy policeman or perhaps the story is a bit light on characters it just does not work in my opinion. Also its a bit dated and I'm not overly fond of this type of grey lighting in films thinking it reduces the storytelling.

A good film
Enjoyable film, which had passed me by, spoilt a little by the 'reckless car driving / shoot 'em up' section mid film, it really didn't need that ( tho' I'm sure some people will love it.)No complaints about the price or delivery of the DVD, both excellent, so many thanks.
