Amazing product!
This is a fairly easy product to install. If you know how to use hand tools you’ll figure it out. The delivery came by freight for me and went smoothly. The actual product itself is finished with high quality materials. The solar tint model I got is really slick. Already have compliments!

Assembly work around needed for our application
As noted by other reviewers, packaging took a beating in transit but product was in perfect condition and all parts arrived. Installation was not easy breezy in my case but not by fault of the product which is heavy and appears to be of great quality. My install was above a patio door that was only half covered by a deep eave, the other half of which got direct exposure from rain every storm needed to be covered without obscuring my view with a canvas option. This seemed like the perfect solution and I am happy to say it is...now that it is installed which took some wrangling. The existing eave presented a problem when it came time to install the awning due to limiting the clearance (photo attached). The install of the solid material of the awning requires that the solid piece flex up and then be put into the front edge during assembly and after the brackets are mounted. The instructions show the clearance required so my bad for not noticing it prior to mounting the brackets because it would not fit without a work around. We were able to get it done by removing from wall, assembling the whole awning first, including the solid plastic piece, and THEN attaching to the wall, with very little clearance above the partial existing deep eave. Not as easy as the assembly they call for but necessary work around in this case due to minimal clearance. Hope this helps someone else.Overall, great product so far. It rained the next day and looks like it will doing a great job of protecting the wood door for the future without obscuring a view and staying true to the modern look of my home. Would recommend this product.

Fantastic Awning, Read this First!!!
I was tentative with other awning shaving plastic parts. This awning is metal, hefty bolt screws, tinted plastic cover. Looks like it will stand up to the elements well. It was straight forward to install but my awning did not come with installation instructions. Luckily amazon had a pdf with instructions. This saved the day. Most of the initial seeps are intuitive for me. Now that I see how well made this is and how easy the install, I ordered 2 more for other doors in my property. Pics to come. :))

Very effective and nice looking porch cover
The awning parts are all well made and needed hardware was included. For the home owner/installer as myself, the instructions were a bit confusing and installation was challenging even for two of us fairly experienced carpenter types. Once assembled, we thought if we had another awning to install it would take half the time and be much easier all around. That said, I am very happy with the awning now that it is in place and functioning well at keeping my porch dry.

Well designed awning
Excellent design, both functionally and aesthetically. I mounted it on a vinyl siding wall with a piece of 1/2 in x 4 poplar that HD sells for projects and placed it behind the vinyl siding so it would not collapse as I was tightening the lag bolt as well as support for the lag bolt. My situation required the awning to be installed lower than the clearance in the installation instructions (I believe it was 12 inches above the door) . Since the awning is curved and the front is lower than the back where it attaches to the wall, my regular storm door top corner would hit the awning when I swang it open. So I solved that problem with replacing my storm door with one I built out of cedar with a arched top so it would not interfere and hit the bottom front of the awning (You would not have to deal with this if you do not have to install it as low as I had to.) The only suggestion to the manufacturer I have is for the American market is to place the holes where it is installed on the wall with multiples of 16 inches so that the lag bolts can securely be driven into the studs. Making a YouTube installation instruction will help greatly in the common type of walls as well (stucco, vinyl, brick etc...).

Installation was a success!
The Palram 1500 door awning was received a day later than expected, and in & outside of the shipping container: it did not travel well. However, all the parts were inventoried and there was no significant damage to the product. Installation instructions were good as they applied to a brick, concrete or adobe wall. However, for my installation (composite wood siding on plywood sheathing on 6 in wood studs) it was a bit more complicated. There were no instructions for that; however, the contractor who installed it for me contacted the Palram customer service agent and was advised how the awning could be installed. Basically, the awning was installed directly to the wood studs with the lag bolts; we did not have to install a block on the studs on which to fasten the lag bolts. The awning supports were installed at a different interval than provided in the written instructions, but according to the information over the phone, that was OK. Some minor adjustments to the parts needed to be made, and are not visible unless you're looking for them. The awning looks fantastic and works in the Washington rain! A great solution to a cover for our door!

Looks nice, not great with heavy rain
It looks great and works well with light rain, but with the curved bar at the end any time there is heavy rain it curls around the bar and actually flies right at the door and you under it. Not the perfect solution for a 100% dry front door.

Amazing product, no more water getting underneath my shed door's sill plate.
I don't say this often these days, but this is a quality product. Installation isn't easy however, especially if you have tough siding to get through (vinyl, brick, etc.) Also, installing the membrane itself to the frame is very tricky, and needs to be done carefully to avoid cracking it. Do yourself a favor, swallow your pride and grab an extra person to help you install this.
