Great product from RetroBit. This is almost an exact duplicate of the original controller produced by Sega. Obviously, I say that, because some buttons have been added. Aside, the Gloss/Piano finish, sections of the controller, are not quite as dense as the original... And, it is a plastic that scratches really easily, generally speaking. It actually had some subtle scratches on it, straight out of the box. That's why I wish companies would stop using that plastic. Sure, it looks nice... But, you look at it, wrong, and it scratches. That would be my only reason for docking a point off the "Quality Of Material" rating. Other than that, the quality build, is good. Now, aside quality of material and build... This is, hands down, the best Sega Genesis controller, you're going to find, today. It's the most responsive, well built, reliable, Genesis controller on the market, today. The Buttons have just the right amount of click. There's no latency, once so ever. The charge hold, is great. The reciever range is great. The Genesis had very few games that allowed for use of the shoulder buttons. And, unfortunately, there is no button mapping feature, to allow for more use of the shoulder buttons. Aside minor gripes... I highly recommend this controller.

I recently acquired a highly customized Stainless Steel Cased Neo Geo MVS console. It has controller ports for the original Neo Geo, Sega Saturn, Sega Genesis and PlayStation 2. I can't find any Neo Geo wireless controllers and highly doubt they ever existed. I had used wireless PlayStation 2 controllers several years ago but all that I could find available now run on two AAA batteries. I wanted a solution that would work with my port options and be rechargeable. This gave me the choice of the Retro-Bit Sega Genesis (this model) or the Retro-Bit Sega Saturn wireless controllers. Both models are available with or without the extra USB dongle. I decided to buy the model with the extra USB dongle. My reasoning for buying the dual purpose model was I had a lot of doubt this would work on my Neo Geo console. If it didn't work, I could at least use it with a PC. Now that I know it works perfectly, I will probably give the Retro-Bit Sega Saturn model a try. I'm glad I took a chance because now I can play my Neo Geo console with a wireless controller. The button layout isn't exactly where I would put them but very close. The Start button is still the Start button and the Select button adds "coins" to continue. Pressing Start and Select at the same time gets me into my BIOS to make changes there if I want. The same BIOS menu can act as "Pause". All things considered, I think it's about as perfect a solution as I could hope for. I don't own a Sega Genesis but I did use it a bit on PC running retro games with emulators and I find it great for that purpose as well. I have no doubts it would work on an original Sega Genesis and it does make a decent PC controller for emulators. If you need a controller for either, this is a good choice.

When used with a real Sega Genesis the C button registers as Start (pauses game) on many games, even with real cartridges. This is a known issue that is well documented elsewhere (Reddit). Mind blowing that this an officially licensed Sega product. So why did I buy it, and give it 4 stars? Because the receiver for the original Genesis works perfectly on an Atari 2600. It can even get power from the Atari, even though Sega used a different pin than Atari did for power. It probably works on many other old consoles and computers that use the DB9 connector, because you can power the receiver externally with the built in USB port. (Be aware that for the C64 and others you may need a protection device in between) Also, the USB receiver is compatible with everything I've tried, like Brook's Playstation and Saturn/Dreamcast adapters (I cant get the Saturn to map buttons perfectly though). But, with the Brook plus a Tototek I have wireless a Turbografx with no lag. (place controller in x-input mode for perfect mapping). Lastly, even though it glitches on a real Genesis for Genesis games, it works perfectly for Master System games on the Genesis. Even for Wonder Boy in Moster Land, that doesn't even support Genesis controllers! There is only one other controller out there that can do this and it's $80.

Suffers from a common issue of randomly pausing . Downloading firmware for this thing is a very complicated process and after is finally got my pc to recognize the controller , the controller went dead and never turned on again. I went with the 8bitdo wireless Sega remote and have no regrets

Controller works great! Range and battery life are good, no lag, and love the original feel. Great retro packaging as well!

Pros: Authentic style and feel, additional shoulder buttons, Genesis and USB bluetooth adapters included, good response time, decent battery life Cons: High cost Bottom Line: These are the best Bluetooth controllers available for the Genesis. These can also be used on the Genesis classic via the USB Bluetooth adapters that's included. The addition of shoulder buttons makes the controller more versatile as you can use it for retro gaming on several other consoles. I feel the pricepoint though is a bit high as there are better options out there for retro gaming at a cheaper rate. If you want a solid Genesis specific controller though, this is the way to go.

I bought two of these to use with the Nintendo Switch. The switch only has one USB port, but with a splitter I plugged in two controllers and it recognized both without any issue! There are no instructions included, but I found them with a google search and setup was simple. They come with connectors for the Sega Genesis as well so I thought I might as well try them out. I am very impressed with how well they work on my 25+ year old Genesis! The controllers are official Sega products and the quality is excellent. It works and feels like they are original to the console, except after all these years... no cord!

Lo compre para la mini y el génesis clásico, en este último todavía no lo pruebo, en la mini responde excelente en ese aspecto es perfecto, el único inconveniente si se puede llamar así es el tamaño un poco pequeño y el peso si te saca un poco de onda, pero nada que interfiera con lo principal que es jugar...

Cumple lo que promete, buen rendimiento de batería, fácil conexión y muy estable, la calidad de la cruceta podría mejorar, CP trol muy ligero pero no en buen sentido, creo que le falta más peso, para hacer un agarre seguro.

I was skeptical at first, but I'm glad I bought this controller. It's amazing and easy to set up as well. Once you set it up it'll automatically connect so no need to reconnect it. Feels just like the original 6 button Sega Genesis controller. The box it comes with is really nice as well and has everything you need. Look under the box for the wires and instruction manual. I've had no issues with it disconnecting well playing and the battery life is good.
