Good enough to move hot charcoal for short period of time. Glove does get vary warm.

The length was perfect and the insulation is great. Protected my hands and arms, didn't burn my fingers. I will buy them again once/if they wear out.

These are great for moving wood around the campfire using tools, but they do not protect like an oven mitt if you directly touch something burning hot.

UPDATE ON THESE GLOVES. After over a year of use [I heat with wood] they have proved VERY durable. Stitching intact. Highly burn resistant. There are no burn wholes in the finger tips, or sign of burn. Still soft and pliable for ease of use. Ditto on everything below. I would give these gloves 6 stars if I could!!! I bought a pair and may never have to buy another glove. BRAVO.I bought these gloves for my woodstove. They are wonderful! Great heat protection. Soft and pliable so the stove tools-poker-are easy to hold and maneuver. The extra length allowed me to reach right into the firebox to move an unruly log without scorching my arms. Since I've had them only a couple weeks I cannot speak to durability but they appear durably built to last with reinforced parts. There was a delay on delivery which can not be pinned on the vendor. But the company responded admirably by resending with a quick delivery. And a bonus for my trouble...Quality gloves! Quality company!

These work really well as oven mitt s. Regular old oven mitts just do not give you the protection that these do.I have thrown awayall of my so called oven mitts and pot holders and only use these. I even bought another pair for my sieve births gift and she really liked them. When you can pull a cast iron skillet out of the oven and not even feel any heat on your hand and fingers is really amazing.regular oven mitts just do not protect well enough for that.

Log handling for wood stove.

Perfect protection for my arms and hands well using my Woodstove. The last pair of gloves I bought we’re terrible I was unable to move my fingers which is hard when you’re trying to negotiate burning logs! These gloves are 100% top-notch! They’ve got stretch for mobility and incredible heat protection. I 100% recommend! I was worried because I have small hands and they are one size fits all but that was not a problem thank goodness they’re very pliable so they work great.

I must say I was skeptical as we use these for our wood stove. We reach inside, move wood around, handle hot coals and they appear to be standing up to the environment. The gloves are insulated well enough in the hands and fingers to protect our hands. The sleeve is not insulated but is actually the same heavy suede as the rest of the glove and no issues as previously I have burned my forearms. I will give them a 5 star rating because they really are decent gloves, especially for the money! I really cannot think of anything on the negative side about these.
