Interesting Good Ink Pad
Honestly it sounds weird but this is a really cool ink pad. When applied on hand the ink is almost invisible but when rolled onto paper or the card it's perfect, visible, the right color etc. Afterwards the ink kinda just rubs off with basic friction or a paper towel. Works very well.Pro tip: don't overdo pressure. You only need to lightly roll your fingers on this to get good results.

rather impressed
I received this item today 12.13.2023 and tested it out. I was a little concerned when I saw some of the negative reviews but am rather pleased. I have a fingerprinting scheduled for tomorrow so we'll see the ultimate results. So far though, my thoughts. Yes, it is small. But this is more than large enough to roll a digit on. When it comes to the 4 full print on the lower portion of the cards, I don't see this being an issue. It may take a little longer due to having to do each digit separately and a little more finesse to make sure I get what I need. The ink itself, not super dark but ridge lines seem clear and crisp. I did try to intentionally press hard as some clients do when they 'help me'. It was more difficult to smudge which is a good thing. It is also far easier to clean up after as well. With my previous pad, a client would need to use 3 wipes, this will only require one....much more efficient. The previous pad also created major issues with smudging and reprints due to how dark and uneven it would go on a clients digit even with attempts to control how much ink was on the digit. It was also very messy and would cause some pretty serious concern if a client had a white countertop. My initial thoughts are that this will actually make things significantly easier to work with on the client side. I see this looking like it will minimize reprints, which is also a good thing. If tomorrow goes well I think I'll be getting more of these for backups. I also see this as being far easier when going into a clients home with all my things. Being a notary public as well, I carry a bag for all my journals, pens, etc. I do have a small container which holds my fingerprinting gear. This pad will make things far easier than having to carry in my entire board which holds my ink pad and card holder. This makes it feel far more professional from a clients point of view. I don't like it when a client feels it necessary to ask if I want help carrying anything. I'm certain I can fit everything needed within my notary carry bag without issue. One thing I would have liked to have seen though is some sort of removable plastic sheeting for the pad itself to help minimize drying out faster. The seal of the container itself seems decent so hopefully that won't be to much of an issue. I know I can make something in the mean time as a precaution.12.14.2023 went to my fingerprinting appointment and wasn't totally disappointed. One thing I would like to point out though, this can cause smudging and 'darkness' if pressed down on to hard. Of course a client will find a way to make it not always work right. When done right, the darkness is just dark enough to make the ridge lines pop well. The clean up was much better, which I already expected.Bottom line, I'll be ordering more of these.

Ink for school science project? Look no further.
Needed a fingerprint pad for my elementary school child’s science project. After reading several reviews, I am glad I settled on this one. The “inkless” pad make it easy for my child to conduct their experiment independently without me worrying that their school would be covered in ink. Each person was given a baby wipe to clean their hands afterwards, which was more than sufficient. The ink color is gray, not black. Initially, the prints were too light or smeared. It took my child about 10 minutes of practice to navigate how much ink to use and pressure to apply for a “clean” print – which was needed for this experiment. The technique my child used was to have the person clean their hands with an alcohol wipe, apply the ink to the finger with a rolling motion (just one roll from one side to the other with light/moderate pressure), and take the print by placing the fingers flat (no rolling motion) and applying moderate pressure. My child found that if the ink was applied by placing the fingers flat vs rolling, less of the print was visible at times. If a rolling motion was used to take the print, more smearing occurred. They needed clean prints with ridges visible. I am sure other techniques would work. However, this one happened to work best for my child to conduct their experiment independently. Great price, solid results.

INK RAN OUT REALLY QUICKLY!
It's a wonderful product. It really is inkless and easy to clean up! It's also nice and compact. But the ink ran out really quickly. I practiced taking my fingerprints on a couple of sheets of paper then I did it on the official paper. And each time I had to press harder and roll my finger more to get clearer picture! The ink was not getting picked up because it was running out and the fingerprints looked faded out.

Great value!
This inkpad worked well and saved me $20 in fees to be finger printed. Highly recommend.
