Moukey MMS-5 Desk Mic Stand: Great for close quarters
This review is for the Moukey MMS-5 Desk Mic Stand What I like about this mic stand far exceeds what i don't like. What I like: The Moukey MMS-5 Desk Mic Stand is small enough to fit closely and mic an amp. The moving parts function reliably well. Knobs and boom harness are plastic, but they are well formed and finished. The base, vertical post, and boom arm are metal. I also have one of these mic stands at my computer with an Audio-Technica at2020 USB mic for zooming. Most other portable boom mic stands have long boom arms that get in the way of other wiring/equipment considerations. I bought 2 of these moukeys, then I bought 2 more when I realized the advantage for using with guitar amplifiers. I'm planning to buy another. What I don't like: The base could be a little heavier to compensate for the full reach of the boom arm (i.e. if I fully extend the boom or even extend it half-way with the audio technica at2020 usb mic, it will tip over). The only other thing I don't like is the 3 foam pads on the bottom of the base. They are thicker than need be and contribute to potential wobble if mic weight/boom reach is not carefully balanced. The design would be better served with a full ring of padding. Overall: I'm pleased. The parts work reliably, the design is pleasant to look at, and the size is better for my needs.

Nice Small Boom Stand
I Purchased this Desk top mic stand to replace a small stand I was using for to mic up my guitar amp. It's pretty nice for the price; its big enough to be really versatile, but small enough to pack easily and not take up much room. I can easily set a mic up to any of the 4 speakers in the amp's cabinet without having to extend the height of the stand. The knob to adjust the angle of of the boom arm feels a little bulky, but it works well. The small brass thread adapter also works really well to fit many different microphone clips. The metal base easily threads when it's time to pack up, but is really solid. The only down side is the stability of the stand when the boom arm is level with the floor and fully extended. It seemed to start leaning, but I also had the mic card just hanging off the side. However, I never need to have the arm perfectly horizontal so it's fine for me. Once the arm seems to be at any angle, the stand feels really sturdy again. If you are a musician on a budget (like myself), this is a really good option.

Fantastic stand for the price..however.
Was expecting a moderate lil' stand with okay material - it's actually quite solid! The rubber stoppers on the base work very well, and the base itself is super sleek! The crank on the boom arm are fantastic quality, as well as the mic clip it comes with. My only complaint is the stability. No matter how tight the nut/washer is, the top part of the stand always seems to have a bit of a wobble to it, like it's never fully 100% fastened...more like it's 90% of the way there. Not sure if anyone else has experienced this or not - it's not a deal breaker by any means, just something I wish weren't an issue.

Worked for me to use with my Desktop
This product is fine for my purpose which is to have a mic at mouth level when I am at my desktop on a video call or recording audio. It has a heavy sturdy base and seems to be well made of all metal components. It was easy to assemble and it attached perfectly to my Yeti nano mic. I did need to use the adapter that came with the stand. The stand was at the right height without any extension of the upright pole. In fact it could have been a couple inches shorter but I was able to angle it slightly downwards. I am 5' 8" so if you are taller it is easily adjustable. I think it was good value and did what I needed it to do to have the mic at mouth level without being seen in the video. I attach a picture. The monitor is 27". The Yeti Nano could stand on the desktop but was a little short and I had to move it close for better quality audio. This allowed the stand to be on the side of the monitor and extend to my mouth.

Weighted base isn't heavy enough to hold average desktop setup
I got this as the boom arm on it was shorter than my other desktop mic stand. I needed something with a short arm due to limited desk space, didn't want it hitting my monitor when I turned it out of the way. The total usable length of the boom is 6.5" I'm just using a Razer Seiren X for discord, gaming, etc. Pay attention to the max bearing weight at 1.1 lbs. Amazon lists the Seiren X weight at .84 lbs. Not sure if that includes the base or not. This stand couldn't support the weight of the Seiren on a simple shock mount at all. It just flops over. The weighted base has three pieces of rubber glued to it, to keep from scratching surfaces. They were misaligned and practically peeling off already. I actually was able to swap the entire boom arm portion of this Moukey stand onto my InnoGear Adjustable Desk Microphone Stand, which gave me exactly what I needed. I actually recommend doing this if you need a stand with a heavier base but a short arm and aren't in the market to sift through hundreds of specific measurements. So this mic stand ended up serving a purpose for me, but certainly not as intended.

Great quality for a tabletop stand.
Great quality for a tabletop stand. Worked perfectly to mic a Cajun drum. Wish came with a smaller mic clip, only held newer mics but won’t hold an older Shure. Switched it out.

Qualitativ Gut
