Intel Core 2 Duo T9300 SLAQG SLAYY 2.5GHz 6MB Mobile CPU Processor Socket P 478-pin

Purchased from laptop-hero in Chicago, 24$. Came quickly. Mailed on Tuesday, received on Thursday. Christmas Eve. Swapped out a T6400 2GHz Core2 Duo with 2MB cache for this processor with 2.5GHz dual core and 6MB cache. Worked great, actually runs more efficiently, because balanced power routine in Win7 powers it down to 800MHz in idle as opposed to the T6400's 1200MHz idle. This was in a Toshiba Satellite A305-S6905. Also upgraded memory to 4GB ($12) and put in a Crucial MX200 500GB SSD drive ($127.99 Amazon flash deal) . The SSD drive alone made a huge difference, as did a fresh install of Win7 Pro over the top of a terrible Vista OS. I Figure the SSD can be moved to the next 3 machines in the future or thrown in a USB 3 enclosure for a lightweight backup drive with no moving parts when the Toshiba gets to be another 5 years old.....Had I been more confident I'd have opted for the T9600 2.8GHz with the 1066 FSB but just wasn't sure if the Toshiba would have supported it.

Installed the CPU and the laptop booted up with no issues whatsoever. Overall great improvement in system performance. If you have moderate experience in working on laptops, you should upgrade. I have a ThinkPad T61, and after flashing the Middleton modified BIOS (version 2.29-1.08), I changed the CPU, wireless card, and installed a solid state drive. Loaded Windows 10 and now my laptop runs great. I am very happy with the enhanced performance. In addition, I purchased a docking station for the T61. Found it on Ebay for $15.99. If you want to extend the life of your ThinkPad, this is the way to go

I've bought it to replace older T7700 processor in my Compaq 8710w which often got overheated so could suddenly shut down. With this T9300 it become completely stable and the cooling fan rarely run fully intensive.

Replaced a Celeron 900 in a toshiba C655. Much more powerful than the stock processor, plus it runs cooler with speedstep. Turned a overheating pile of junk into a decent laptop. Well worth the $30.
