... before but I partially bought it because of the funny name but I also wanted to try it
I have never had Spotted Dick before but I partially bought it because of the funny name but I also wanted to try it. I did not read the can at first so I did not know it was supposed to be heated up. Straight out of the can it is a little dry but I warmed up the leftover and it made it moist and taste so much better!!! Highly recommend this unique dessert.

Delicious and Filling
The sponge cake was moist, flavorful, and filling. It goes great with Earl Grey tea. I will definitely buy more of this product in the future.

Interesting, glad I tried it.
I just tried it for the very first time and I liked it. I heated it as per instructions and put a few mere drops of pinapple juice on the top before covering in plastic wrap and nuking it. It was actually edible, I was dubious when it first came out of the can. Reminds me of a fruit cake or something actually, without all the fruit.

Spicy bread pudding in a can...HIGHLY SPICED....cinnamon...nutmeg....etc...
We ordered this because i had never tried this and it seemed interesting.it comes in a can, pudding only.... no icing. I made some buttercream icing to go with it. It is different....kind of like bread pudding....but with a lot of spices...like cinnamon...nutmeg...etc. You DO HAVE TO COOK IT....either in the can (in a pan of boiling water for 40 min) or in the microwave....OUT OF THE CAN. It contains sultanas...which are raisins. It was a little heavy on the spice...giving it a strong taste. It was ok....but I probably wouldn’t order it again...

Good Once; Not Worth Price for Repeat
If you've never had spotted dick before, this is a good introduction. But it's also something you can easily make at home, so it's not really worth the bother of buying it - unless you're giving it as a gift, and/or you're rubbish in the kitchen (i.e. you can't cook).

Yuck!!
Had high expectations from my English friends and family - not a good choice at all if you’re trying Spotted Dick for the first time. Find another place to try it or make it at home. This canned version is made like a brick with WAY too much spice & sugar (no amount of milk will help). It was also extremely dry which was odd since it had been stored in a can, even when served with custard as tradition calls for. Ended up only eating the custard, it was delicious.

The name says it all
Bought this as a gag for a friend's 50th birthday. I mean c'mon..... SPOTTED DICK! Who doesn't get a chuckle from saying the name. As for the flavor of the contents, I cannot comment. I gave it away. Not sure if she ate it. A lot of people on here said it's good, so I'll go with the majority and take their word for it.

Not for me!
I bought this cake for my partner who has had it a few times and wanted it again. It was my first time. We had it Christmas eve. I found it to be dry and very heavy. I even bought the clotted cream to go with it. She enjoyed it and since it was a gift to her, I ate mine but vowed I would not purchase it again. It was expensive and not my kind of cake. She was happy with it and that is all that mattered!
