Replaces traditional bulbs perfectly!
I love these bulbs. I have 2 in front and 1 in back. They come on at dusk, and go off at dawn. I bought the soft white, and they are just as bright, if not a little bit brighter than the traditional bulbs I was using, with less watt usage. They look perfect with my exterior decor. I have them in clear exterior light fixtures, and the bulbs complement the look very nicely. This picture gives a good idea how bright they are at night, and they fit into the neighborhood look perfectly. I was not sure soft white would be bright enough, but I am glad I got them. Anything brighter would not look good in my neighborhood. I keep my outside lights on all night, and I was sometimes forgetting to turn them off in the morning ... and when I was away, they would burn 24/7. Also, when I come home at night, the front of my house is not dark, but well lit up. This is a wonderful way of saving energy, and preserving the life of the bulbs. I highly recommend the TORCHSTAR LED Dusk-to-Dawn A19 Light Bulb, Photo Sensor Bulbs, and I will keep purchasing/using them. I looked at these quite awhile before I finally purchased them, and I am so glad I got them. I have already recommended them to family & friends.

Works ok
They turn on too early at dusk, around 7:20 PM in August. It is still bright outside and there are still sunshine. I observed it for 5 days. Knock off 1 star because of that. I installed 1 in front of my house in a clear fixture and another one in the back in a hanging socket which the bulb is naked by itself. They both turn on at the same time around 7:20 PM. I haven't observe them in the morning yet. My guess is they turn off around 7:00 AM. That's 12 hours on running time every day; waste electricity and lifespan, not good.I want LED bulbs that turns on when it is dark, like at 9:30 PM - 10 PM in the Summer and off at 5:30 AM - 6 AM; these don't meet that expectation. So far they work fine. I don't know how long they last from running 12 hours a day. Will update later when anything comes up.Hope my honest review help other people from making better informed decisions.

Excellent product, avoids costly wiring for separate electric eye circuit.
I was shopping for a hard-wired electric eye and discovered this product by accident. I have outside porch light fixtures that I would like to come on at night but didn't want to buy an expensive timer switch, or worse, mount and wire an electric eye circuit to control each fixture. This product is so simple: screw the bulb in, turn on the switch and walk away. Now there have been some complaints that the light may now work properly if sensor eye on the bulb facins the wrong way when screwed into the bulb socket. This happens if the sensor eye is facing the back of the fixture where it is not exposed to enough ambient light. But there is an easy fix: (pictured) take a small insulated tool (like a wooden chop stick) and bend up the metal contact tab inside the base of the socket where the bulb makes contact. This way the bulb does not need to be screwed into the socket as deeply to make contact with the bulb base. By making this adjustment the bulb can more easily be screwed into the socket so the direction the sensor eye is facing so it is toward the ambient light outside the fixture.I don't know how long these bulbs will last but so far they are working better than I had expected. A simple solution to night-on, day-off, security lighting.

Torchstar LED Dawn-To-Dusk 5000K, 800 Lumens, 9W Bulbs
LED Dawn-To-Dusk 5000K, 800 Lumens, 9W BulbsPros:–Price for 4 pack, very energy efficient, and they are always cool to the touch. I’ve dropped a similar plastic LED bulb and it didn’t break, incandescent and CFL bulbs would be trashed. I tested each bulb one day before reviewing.–New technology with built-in photo sensor cell eliminates need for additional fixture adapter–this is great.–The 800 lumens, 5000K daylight bulb is very, very bright. Can feel uncomfortable if looking at it for any length of time, if you study the light, it has a slight blue tint. The amount of light does illuminate most of my back yard. If your target is a large, dark area, this bulb will work well.–Thankfully, Touchstar bulbs I received have NOT produced any annoyances I’ve read in reviews from similar products such as flickering in the morning before turning off, delayed on/off at dusk/dawn; buzzing sounds the first three minutes of activation. I’m in Florida, not seeing any bugs gather around the bulb like others I have used. Other than one bulb threading issue mentioned in Cons, I’m happy with these bulbs.–Remember, it is best to first turn off power to the light fixture hardware, insert the bulb, then turn on power to properly activate the sensor. If installed during the day, when powered on, the bulb should light for a few seconds, self-activate the sensor, then immediately turn off until dark.Cons:–Using these in a house-mounted porch light. One out of four bulbs socket threads don’t initially line up well so when it’s in place to connect for power, it is pointed more toward the house instead of straight forward for best light exposure. Used in a pole lamp, open space situation that would not be an issue. Had to spend a few minutes and multiple insertion locations to get the light sensor properly facing straight–very annoying. Using this bulb first so when it burns out, won’t have to deal with it again in the future.Other thoughts:–Again, these are very bright 5000K daylight white bulbs, I am going to try another seller’s product because they are rated 4000K, soft white and might be more to my liking, I think 3000K would be too yellow for my personal preference. Unfortunately, TouchStar does not sell a 4000K rated product at this time.–Carefully read the description of the product before you add to cart–it is easy to mistake “dusk-to-dawn” for “motion sensor” light bulbs. Your purchase error does not quality for rating the product “1" star as a couple people have done.

Perfect outdoor lighting
We have 3 lights on our long porch & I installed these light bulbs in all of them. They light up the porch beautifully. They come on at dusk & turn off at dawn just as they say. I am greatful that I have so much light out front as it adds a measure of safety. These work great & I never have to remember to turn the porch lights on if I’m going to be returning after dark. Being that they do not attract bugs is an added plus...less flying things to enter if the door is opened.

Is good light an doesn't attract many insects like white bulbs👌
