I certainly didn't expect to find such great quality and design with this Allen wrench set. It is really excellent and has great design for the case and is good value. I am giving one to my son and even one to my x husband, and keeping the 3rd for myself. Easy to use...make sure you have the right tool to loosen the set screw in the side of the holder. You are loosening the LARGER set screw. I happened to have a regular Allen wrench which worked perfectly. You might have a drill bit or screwdriver which will work for you. Just unscrew it a tiny bit so that the wrenches can be opened up without falling off. Leave it that way and when you are done wrenching, you just slide the wrench into its closed and locked position. I keep the red (hex) and blue (star) with me and my range bag at all times because they have been the most universal fit for my 22 and 9mm pistols and long guns. Occasionally one of the outside locking nuts has gotten a little loose but I was able to tighten it up no big problem. These are easy to use and durable. Happy with price of this 3 pack.

I'm not sure why manufacturers feel the need to have different screw heads for all of their products, but I was able to fix and tighten a lot screws with this tool set. My only complaint is that some of the wrenches are extremely stiff to pull out while others are loose and dangle by themselves. The tool set is fairly durable since I've put substantial force into tightening furniture and other random items, and there hasn't been a screw I couldn't tighten or remove. There will be no more complaining about the loose frying pan handle in my household.

If I had a dollar for every time I fiddled around with a poorly designed Allen wrench/key "solution" that drove me batty, I'd have way more than enough money to buy a few of these sets, which thus far have been delightful to use. Sets I've tried in the past have been difficult to find in my tool box/bag (all black or black and dark-blue), uncomfortable to hold/use (with poorly shaped metal grips), or easily became lose and needed to be repeatedly tightened. Finally I found these 3 sets that solve all my problems and fit together nicely in a small box. While it never seemed to me that this was a difficult design challenge to master, after years of searching for a simple, easy to use, well designed Allen wrench/key set, I am finally fully satisfied. These cover all your screwing/unscrewing needs. I bought these wrenches to keep in my range bag in case I have to make adjustments at the range.You can't do better for the price. If you're in need of Allen wrenches I advise you to give these a try.

I was just looking for something that I could put into my little weekend warrior toolbox. I didn't have an actual hex key set at all, which is surprising given how many other hand tools I have. I picked the cheapest set I could find on Amazon that had the metric/sae/torx as a set and looked "cool". I was surprised at how tight these keys are. They hold into place very well and don't fall loosely out of the holder. The holder is mostly a hard plastic but feels durable and has the black rubber accent peices around the edges which improve grip and handling. Upon arrival they had a light oil/grease coating on them (probably to protect from oxidation). I just wiped them down with a dry shop towel. They are about the size of the mouse on my computer. Fits perfectly in the palm of my hand. For less than $20, I am pleased with my purchase.
