The size of the hole in the clip is 3mm

Are these clip good quality? Or just terribly photoshopped and misleading photos?

They are great quality I use them for clipping photos to a metal grid.

Are these clips coated in plastic?

I bought the rose gold ones and they aren’t coated in plastic. All metal.

are the clips flat and can they hang from the wall?

No, the clips aren't flat backed. I use them for craft projects. However, if you wish to utilise it to hang something from, you could discreetly adhere them to the rear of a picture frame and hang on a nail or suitable hanging object, but it won't be flat to the wall. Hope this helps.
