The brushes are hardened to a fine point at the factory
Needed detail brushes ASAP for a Christmas gift project that needed to be completed in less than two weeks. Ordered this set on a Thursday and had them at my door the following Saturday. The packaging of the brushes was the first thing I noticed. I was very impressed with the way each brush is tied down individually to the backer card for safe keeping. I knew right away that I would store them that way after use. The brushes are hardened to a fine point at the factory. You'll need to wash that hardener off before use. It's a nice feature which helps ensure tip integrity. Each brush came with a protective plastic sleeve as well which helps you keep the hairs in perfect condition during storage.I really only have used the 4/0 liner and 4/0 round brushes to this point, but I can say that I'm impressed with the quality. It's been 12 years since I painted anything and back then I used natural red sable brushes as a rule, so I was a bit apprehensive about going to a synthetic. No worries after having used these though. I was using hobby store craft acrylic paints and the paint flowed very naturally and true off of the brush hairs. The brushes held their point well during the painting process. Nothing is more aggravating when painting as when you have to keep reforming your brush to it's original shape. When finished painting the point was easily attained after washing out the brush. I haven't put these brushes though the usual abuse that multiple projects will subject a brush to so I can't speak to durability, but all indications are that they should stand up well. They were an excellent value at less than 2 dollars per brush. You can easily pay double that or more for a brush of this quality. My project was an 8 inch figurine. You can get an idea for the type of detail work attainable with these brushes from these photo's..If I could make one change to this set it would be to include a super fine detail brush, say a 10/0 and maybe a fan brush for dry brushing. That said, this is a great set of brushes that will get you through the bulk of most of your fine detail work and also will work to cover the larger areas of your projects as well.I would definitely purchase this set again and will be looking to add to my collection with some other sizes and variations from the MyArtScape line.

Good Performance & Consistent Results
I am a very prolific shoe artist/painted who uses these brushes daily. I have had them for about a month a half and they have held up well. I am not the most careful brush person and as a result don't trust myself with the "really nice" expensive sable brushes. Because I use my brushes hard, I was sort of skeptical about buying any upgraded brush to the cheap ones I usually use. But I really did need something with a bit more durability because sometimes you actually do get what you pay for. The tips sizes are perfect for my detail work. I haven't seen any degradation of the brushes except for one slight fray on one of my brushes. Considering I often leave them in cups of water (I am coming back in a second I think to myself) and I am terrible about cleaning them properly, I bought a real artists brush cleaner product and that seems to help me "reset" the bristles from my carelessness. Now that I have fessed up that I leave these in cups of water, I should probably also tell you that they I have not seen any warping or paint flaking that sometimes happens when you leave a wooden handled brush for too long. I believe the handles are plastic. Enough about my pathetic cleaning...the brushes are good. They consistently help me get my work done and in my brush caddy, when I need a small tip 0 type brush, I skip the others and opt for one of these. The performance is better and the results more consistent - exactly what you want in a fine detail brush.

What a deal!
Over the course of 2015 I purchased a LOT of stuff at Amazon and Newegg. Much of it came packaged in cardboard boxes that were just too nice to tear up for recycling so I decided to find another use for them. I'm not talking about the outside packing boxes with the flaps that require tape to close them, more the boxes that came inside, that either have a separate top and bottom or one piece boxes with tabs that fold in to close the box. I decided to paint the boxes all Christmassy, thus eliminating the need for wrapping paper, ribbons, or bows that just end up in the landfill anyway.I ordered plenty of cheap brushes so there was no shortage of them because I have a tendency to abuse them, sometimes shelving them and forgetting I did for so long that the water they were in evaporated and the brushes were deceased, far past the point of resuscitation.Anyway, some boxes got far more detailed than I first intended, requiring some close up detailed work and even outlining or writing in some cases. You can only do so much with the extra cheap brushes I was using so I found myself getting more and more frustrated not being able to do the detailing and fine lines I thought I would be capable of. It was pretty maddening, and at one point I tore one box into several pieces and was going to abort the whole project.Immature, I know. Once I calmed down I decided to find a better solution for my frustration. Enter MyArtscape, with a vast selection of brushes (and paints) to choose from, and a promise of a quality product. After looking through brushes for a while, I spotted this set and noticing the tips of the brushes were so much finer than anything I was using, decided my search was over. The brushes arrived earlier than expected and were nicely packaged so all the brush tips were protected, not a hair out of place. I remember thinking that if I could get one or two brushes that could perform the way I needed them to, it might be worth the twenty bucks I spent on the set.So FINALLY (right ?), here's my review. I have now used every brush in this set and am amazed by the results. They're perfect...no, they're more than perfect. I didn't get a brush or two that worked, I got twelve! They're comfortable to hold even when doing detail work for hours in a row, and the boxes I used them on came out much better because of them. My family was blown away when they saw the boxes and MyArtscape definitely had something to do with that. This is a great product and you can bet these brushes have not, and will not, suffer any brush-abuse in my hands. I want to keep them as perfect as they arrived. I cannot recommend these brushes highly enough, and I will certainly deal with this company again &again. My thanks go out to MyArtscape and it's owner Rob for a great work ethic and a quality product. (I bet he's really hot too. Lol)
