CTM Leather Squeeze Coin Change Pouch

My Grandma used to have one these coin purses. After trying to keep my change in a pocket in my small purse (I don't carry a wallet) I thought of when my Grandma would pull hers out for change. I was happy when I found one here on Amazon. I have been using this for almost a year and I am very happy with it. It doesn't loosen up, and my change now stays in one place and it's easy to open and get change out when I need it. As well as put it in when I have change back.This change purse came with a Keyring to attach to anything. But I just fold it into the change purse because I keep mine in my purse. Also, the man made leather that has the key chain seems a bit flimsy that I'm not sure I would trust it to keep your change purse from falling. The hinges are easy to open and they don't pinch me like some of the reviews I've read. I've uploaded a video to show the use of the hinges and the wear on this after a year of being in my purse. You also have Dal's approval in the background. ;-)

I don't use these for keys, as my key ring is way too big, but I have used one of this type of pouch for coins for years. It keeps them from rattling around in your pocket, and it is much easier to find the right coin. It comes with a small key ring on a short chain attached to the inside, and you might want to use it for a spare/emergency house or car key.This is the first time I've tried this brand. It is a lot less expensive than buying one in a department store, and is also just a little larger than the ones I've had in the past. The only question is how it will hold up with use. It is nice, soft leather, and the spring mechanism at the top is comfortable to use. The ones I've had in the past get sharp on the edges and hurt when pressing after a few years. That's why I replaced the last one. If this one holds up, it will be well worth the price.

I bought seven of these pouches and use them for various things such as carrying a magnifying glass, carrying camera lenses, carrying the rechargeable flat batteries for my Sony SX260 camera. They are well made and should last many, many years. Don't continue to squeeze to open and close the leather enclosure because eventually it may cause the metal to fatigue in the spring closure device. In other words it's not a kid's toy to be played with to release nervous energy. It's a high quality small carrying case for expensive items you want to protect. If you need it to carry coins so they don't damage your pockets and which is easy to retrieve when you need pocket change, this works great. The leather is high quality. The only problem I have is the high cost they charge for shipping and handling. I find that I can now buy the exact same thing at my local flea market (made in China) and the cost is only $4.00 (no shipping and handling). I think you end up paying about 60% extra just in the cost of the product due to the shipping and handling. They weigh practically nothing, therefore the high shipping cost is unwarranted. Even so, I liked them so much I bought several.

I like to carry my cash in my pocket when possible. A purse is a pain. So this is very nice for a few bills and lots of coins. It's a bit of a bear to open until you understand how. You open at the sides rather than squeeze. So it doesn't actually work the way it's designed to --- at least not well. But that's a small issue and this is a nice, well made product that should last a long time. It's easy on the pocket --- no bulge. And it's handy.

Ah, yes, now I see why other reviewers commented that these were not shoes - that's the questions I'm supposed to answer. Onto the review of a coin purse. It is perfect for my needs! I bought a small leather wallet with strap to carry my folding money, credit cards, checkbook, and cell phone. But no change compartment. This black leather coin purse (1) matches the black leather wallet, (2) holds a lot of change, (3) tucks easily in the side pocket, (4) and even has a key ring to secure it to the wallet's strap so I won't lose it like I lost my other coin purse. And, I really don't get the comments about being difficult to open as it opens easily, yet stays tightly closed to keep change safe. Yes, the leather feels thin, but I will carry this pouch protected it a side pocket of the wallet.

I was a little disappointed in receiving this coin pouch based on what I listed above in my "Cons". The quality of the coin pouch as a whole is just okay, and I question the quality and durability in the long run. The leather is a little thin and the hardware could be better (clasping mechanism is slightly misaligned). Also, my car keys do not fit in the coin pouch, and I think only small car keys or house keys would actually fit. Keep in mind that the closing-snap mechanism uses a band approximately half an inch across the top of the pouch to close shut, and therefore your keys (or any other object) has to fit completely below that area. I purchased 5 different leather coin pouches from other brands and found some of those to be better for the price (stronger and thicker leather, more precise hardware, etc).Conclusion:I was slightly disappointed with this coin pouch. It's not bad for the price, but there are still better options available at the same price.
