China. I wouldn't have bought this if the description was correct, it's made in China, not Germany.

Can this filter deep fat fryer oil?

I found that the screen was too fine to strain spices so it would probably be too fine for particles from fryer oil. You actually need a filter not quite so fine. I was constantly having to use a spoon to unclog the screen so it could drain. Trying to pour 3 gallons of oil thru it would be a bigger chore than I would care to experience.

Van the filter go in the dishwasher or if not how should you clean it?

I washed the filter in the dishwasher on the top rack and it was fine, hand washing would probably be more gentle on it in the long run but so far so good in the dishwasher.

Is there any company logo on the funnels? Mine have no indication of manufacture. I purchased the small set.
