ATF132 - Solos for Trombone (All Time Favorites Series) Paperback – January 1, 2000

This is an excellent book for trombonists. Younger students can use it, as well as more advanced players.BUT. Beware of buying a used book. (Another reviewer mentioned this earlier.) This is a piano book with another book inserted in it with the trombone parts. If you order a used book, you’ll most likely get just the piano book. That’s what happened to me and, I believe, some others. A new one is obviously more expensive but you’re going to end up returning it and buying a new one anyway.As for the book, however, it’s excellent and a good addition to your trombone library!

Be sure to buy this book new. There is an insert that goes inside the book (a smaller book with the pieces that are solely for trombone). The larger book is the piano accompaniment book. Most used booksellers won't realize this because it isn't identified on the cover or inside the book. So, do yourself a favor and buy this book new. We bought it used at first and I contacted the publisher to find out why some of the pieces were missing. I discovered that there is an insert--which was of course missing in the "like new" copy we had ordered used from Amazon.As for the piano accompaniment book, my husband can't play the trombone parts very easily from that book alone because the trombone part is smaller than he had hoped (in font size, not in notes or length).

The book features a wide selection of repertoire suitable for students of many ages and abilities. It is a great resource in any musicians library and for any private teacher. I spend a large amount of time looking for repertoire for younger students, and this book has left me very satisfied. It is a great deal because there is a wide variety of solos and the piano part is included which is even better. I definitely recommend this purchase.

Beautiful trombone and piano arrangements. I play the piano while son plays the trombone. Love it.

Lots of options and covers more than one level. This will give us solos for school for several years.

Solid collection of trombone solos. My son has enjoyed and will enjoy playing these for years to come. A great investment.
