Edging Guide for Straight Shaft Echo Trimmers, For High Torque Gearbox Echo Trimmers (With a T in the Model Number)

I admit that when I received the Edging Guide which is basically a plastic disk grafted onto a lazy suzan, I was a bit skeptical. After using it, I am 100% sold! It takes a time or two to get used to operating it, and I was never able to manage it "left handed" as the directions suggest, but with this thing on my Echo trimmer I can now edge in approximately half the time it used to take me. The cut at approximately 1 to 1.25 inches is a bit wider than that of a bladed edger, but it is very clean and straight. The best feature is that compared to a bladed edger, this thing FLIES. With your stock guard removed, you no longer have a "cutter" to trim off the end of the line and make it a fixed length, but the end of the line wears off by itself, and you quickly learn how much to release by listening to the sound it makes. An unexpected trait occurs when you are dispensing line over concrete. When the line length reaches the edge of the disk, it generates a strong suction, pulling the head down toward the concrete. This is not a problem, I just found it interesting. :-) According to the manufacturer, this helps stand the grass up for cutting when you are using it as a trimmer rather than an edger.

I highly recommend this, put this on $200 Echo SRM 225 and it's the best trimmer I have with the addition of this. Paring it with this lower cc trimmer is the way to go so you don't throw rocks too far. It really helps you to get those straight edges quickly, with quality results. It also helps trimming around objects a breeze, best investment I have done for my lawn business.

This was the attachment for my straight shaft trimmer that I have bought in years. It gives me perfect edges around my whole yard. Five plus stars....

A perfect fit and easy installation for my Echo SRM225. I would recommend using the Edgit on a more powerful trimmer than the Echo 225. The Echo 225 does OK although just powerful enough to spin the line length required to use the Edgit.

We have used the Edgits for almost 12 years in my lawn business. It's nice because you only need one piece of equipment to do edging and trimming all at once without going back to the truck to get another piece of equipment. This also reduces the number of miles you have to walk in a day covering many of the same spots that you trim. It takes a little practice, but with a little time you can edge just as fast as you walk if your bed edges and hard lines (driveways, sidewalks, and front curb) are in shape. When learning how to use it, most of our employees forget to keep enough trimmer line long enough but this also will come with experience. Give the bump head a few smacks each time you hear the engine really starting to rev high. I will continue to use these as long as I have a weed eater! I would highly recommend them to anyone.
