Not as good as I had hoped
As another reviewer said it worked great if you wanted to reset it every 10 minutes. Well it wasn't every 10 minutes with me. But I did find for whatever reason that it would fail to connect to certain devices after a certain period of time. I would shut it off for a minute and turn it back on and it would okay for an undetermined amount of time. It didn't seem to work well at all with any of our mobile devices, phones, tablets, etc. Kind of a real let down too because when it did work not only did grab signal from a fair distance away but it would send signal for a fair distance away as well. Also when there was a power outage or the router or modem lost power it wouldn't reconnect and had to be set back up again with the set up wizard. Not a big deal just a major inconvenience. So I am honestly not satisfied with this range extender at all. My older netgear range extender is by far more reliable and dependable. So when it works it works well, but that's a coin flip at best when it does.

You can use 3 extenders in a big old home, but Amped tech support needed.
I ordered 2 more SR10000 range extenders from Amazon (I already had one up & running) to extend my WiFi signal throughout my home. My home is a 4600 sf (not including bsmt) 1906 brick home with 3 stories plus a full bsmt. I wanted WiFi to reach everywhere in the house including the bsmt. That was a formidable task! After failing to get them set up myself, I had considerable difficulty reaching Amped for tech support - unusual as I've always been able to contact them without difficulty in the past. I did finally get a call back after getting some help from Amazon in contacting Amped, I got a call from Amped tech support within 5 minutes of Amazon sending a CHAT msg about my distress reaching them. The Amped customer service rep immediately understood my problem. He spent a long time with me as I ran from bsmt to 3rd floor establishing a good connection on all floors. The rep was polite, professional, kind, knowledgeable and extremely patient. The end result was that I had coverage on all 4 levels, using 3 SR 10000 range extenders - 2 extending the signal from the main modem/router on the 1st floor to the bsmt and 2nd floor, and one that extended the signal from the extender on the 2nd floor to the extender on the 3rd floor. This was a great solution rather than extending all three from the main modem or linking the three in a series, one to the next.

Great repeater
This one was very easy to install once I got my home network in order, just needs to be in a place with access to the main router, select your existing network and enter the log on information, and presto, it's extending the coverage. It's been working without a hitch for about 2 years. It's important to note that the extended coverage will show up as a different network. So if your main router's network is named "Home Network," you'll need to give the extended network a different name like "Home Network Extension." This has two implications: (1) some devices, especially older ones, may not handle wifi well enough to automatically switch to the network with the stronger coverage - as you move from a location covered by your main router to a location covered by this extended router, you'll need to manually connect to your extension network; and (2) if you have some ancillary devices on your home network (e.g., networked printer, networked storage, etc.), depending on the device and its software you may have some trouble using it from the extended network. Some hints for success with this extender:1. I originally had trouble (and some friends had trouble with the same device) because my original main router was outdated (old a/b router, no n-band, etc.). If you bought your router 6 years ago for $59, chances are it's outdated too. This extender was a hassle with the old router, but once I bought a more modern router (Cisco EA4500, but this was a couple of years ago) it connected immediately without a hitch. The new router also solved some other network problems I had. In fact, if you have an older router you may want to replace it before you invest in this extender - your problem may be an outdated router and not a lack of range.2. Position the extender in an area that has reasonable coverage from your main router. If you place the extender where it can't communicate with the main router, it won't work.
