NOT THAT EASY TO MAKE AND THE HANDLE IS INEXPENSIVE
I just purchase this item and I am not sure if it will not hold up as many of the reviews have stated. I do know that it is not as easy to make as many of the reviews have stated. You must bend the PVC which in itself is troublesome and then you must thread the PVC. I found a very inexpensive handle from Doller General( it's the handle from the Back-Saver Long Handle Pan) for only $6.00. I do quite a bit of one on one volleyball training so I will update this review once I have used it a few times. It does seem like it will be helpful and if the Noodle starts to deteriorate it will be inexpensive and easy to replace the noodle.REVIEW AFTER USE- I used this item today (11/20/2022) with one of my one on one clients. It was a good tool to give the hitter a perfect set and also to show where a hitter needs to contact the ball when the set is lower that what it should be. The player enjoyed using the hitting aid and it seems like it should hold up fine. My inexpensive handle also worked fine. I have increased my rating to a 5 star as this Spike Training Aid looks like it will be a nice addition to my training protocol.

Nice training aide
Not sure why some people said this was poorly made. I'm impressed with the quality. Didn't think a 3/4" broom handle would fit, but after trying several times and adding some vaseline to the threads and using a wrench, I was able to thread to two pieces together.

Works for what it is
Product works as described. Would be good to know what poles will fit in the “threads” that have been put into the PVC pipe that they bent because we have tried broom handles, extendable painter poles, and these do not fit.

We got this for volleyball! Good sturdy item! Easy to adjust! Fits easy on a broom handle!

Want to love it but...
This is a great concept and a very useful trainer. However the threaded end is not strong enough for regular use and breaks easily. I hope to see a redesign with out of metal instead of PVC pipe.

Easy to use, also easy to break, requires some innovation...
GreetingsThis is the second time I purchases this kind of volleyball trainer for my family. I saw it used at a local volleyball club by one of the trainers and was inspired by its use.My intent was to build a set up for the kids to use that was free-standing and did not require someone to hold the broom handle while someone practiced.Version 1 I mounted vertically to a jump box I upcycled from a pallet. It worked for about a dozen good swings before the PVC inside the trainer broke where the handle screws in. I had anticipated torsion strain at that point but wanted to test out the initial design. So, I bought the trainer a second time and built version 2, also out of PVC but included to 1 1/2" rotating "female-female" couplers on the vertical support. These allowed the vertical support to rotate along the horizontal axis. Then when one of the kids mishit the apparatus would rotate and release the force. Now, it works great! My only issue is getting the kids to use it...

Works great!
I use these with my club team, for about 3 weeks now. There is very little sign of wear on the tube, but realistically it IS a pool noodle and will start wearing eventually. Some duct tape might work, but for now it's a great tool to teach reach and follow-through! I was able to connect it very easily to a tall painter's extension tool that we had in the garage already. Highly recommend.

Helps a lot
Didn't pay attention that I need a pole but a standard mop/broom handle works. Works great to hold a standard ball. Really helps while trying to stabilize the ball so she can work on approach technique. Easy to use. Worth the money but could be made if you are handy.
