Lightweight, Instant shade in a variety of configurations....
Looking back, I wish I had seen the review and recc for the Sport Brella. As the reviewer said, seems like a better version of this.Got this for the labor day beach weekend and glad I did. It was a welcome addition to our shade camp! It is super lightweight and thus easy to carry over your shoulder (though a bit cumbersome handling due to it's 55" length).Do yourself a huge favor and bring a rubber mallet or beachstake with you when setting this up at the beach. I used a mallet to pound the lower half of the pole into the wet sand which anchors it better than you trying to push it into the sand. On a no wind day the stakes aren't necessary, but any breeze over 3-5 mph and you MUST anchor this umbrella with the included stakes/tethers. The stakes are good quality metal vs. cheap plastic which seem to come with most other tents/shades. The stakes and lines can get in the way and you must be careful and warn others of their location so they don't walk into them or trip over them when the umbrella is upright. I didn't try this with the umbrella on its side like in the pictures, we used it straight up.People really complain about the friction lock lever that joins the umbrella to the base stake. I didn't have any problems with mine .My only gripe is one of the tether lines plastic clip broke. Other than that, happy with the purchase and performance of this product. BUT if I could do it over, I would opt for the SPORT BRELLA.

Easy setup; absolutely amazing!
This beach umbrella convenient and lightweight to maneuver to and from the beach. The setup was straightforward and took no time at all. It was definitely worth the price we paid. It had the perfect amount of shade for my husband and I, although I would recommend a bigger umbrella for larger families. It looks just like the photos and is made of good quality material. Very wind resistant, unlike most umbrellas.

Good Shade
This umbrella provides good shade, it's lightweight, and easy to use.I would give it 5 stars if it had a hinge to tilt towards the sun.

SO practical. Perfect for low-maintenance beach trips
I LOVE this umbrella! I got on a routine of driving onto Assateague Island beach this past summer, sometimes going alone. The Coleman sun shade I had was terrific, but just a bit tricky to set up by myself in the ocean-front breeze. This little baby literally takes less than 2 min to set up and put the stakes in the ground, which means breakfast beverage and other beach fun can happen much faster. This makes setup and takedown at the beach so easy, and a friend and I + a cooler + our backpacks fit just right underneath without being too cramped. My friend had this umbrella in the next quality level up, which I think was about $20 more and had a higher denier nylon. However, I honestly can't tell the difference between that one and this, and I was happy to save the $20. I would not recommend this umbrella if you're beach camping since it's a bit cumbersome to carry (the carrying case will not last long - it's too thin), but for any other excursion it gives an easy, safe place to avoid sun and breeze.

Great For the Beach
This is the 2nd one of these I purchased. Actually the first one was the regular size, but that would receive the same review. Easy to setup and take down. Better than carrying a big canopy which usually takes 2 people to setup. This is plenty big for 2 two beach chairs and anything else you carry down to the beach with you. I will, however, provide a couple of suggestions after using these for 3 years. First, if you are going to use this on a beach, the stakes that come with it aren't going to work well. Go to a big box store that sells camping equipment and buy a half dozen of the orange stakes that you screw into the ground. These were work much better in sand and do very well in holding the umbrella down even in pretty strong wind. Mine stayed in place while I watched several canopies fly past me. Second thing, when you get home, rinse everything down to get all the saltwater and sand off of it. I didn't do this on the first one and one of the zippers corroded and fell apart. I highly recommend this if you are looking for quick and easy shade on the beach.

This is my third sportbrella in the last 20 years. Excellent product. Used each faithfully for many years.

Mary Poppins would love this!
This would be a 5☆ rating if the SLIGHTEST breeze didn't make it take flight. It goes up as easily as opening any umbrella, and packs away just as easily. Unfortunately if using it for a beach shade, you will be chasing the umbrella all day instead of enjoying the beach. I tried using it on a rare day when there wasn't even a noticeable breeze, let alone normal beach wind. I used corkscrew stakes I purchased separately as the stakes that come with it pull right out of sand. The umbrella still kept lifting off the ground, and rolling down the beach. Im sure we entertained the other beachgoers. I was not happy with its constant movement . If they could find some way to make this secure, it would be an awesome shade tent. I really wanted to give this a 5☆rating due to ease of set up and break down ( I've tried many types) , but it just wouldn't stay put! . It does go into the carrying sheath easily, and I like EVERYTHING ELSE about it. The little windows make it nice to see what's around you,and being "screened" windows, it helped keep sand from coming in on me. 2 adults could fit comfortably underneath this, and with room to move around. The material is sturdy and not too thin.
