very delicious coffee
although there was a tiny break in the seal of the bag when it arrived, the coffee smelled so delicious I didn't even think about sending it back. I brewed my first pot this morning and I found it to be everything I wanted--complex, aromatic, satisfying. I also didn't see that I was ordering whole beans, but I do have a coffee grinder and I have happily put it into service!

Great tasting espresso at a premium price
My go to espresso in LaVazza Super Cream but I though I would try an alternative, after reading some very positive reviews for Jo Espresso (plus my wife's name is Jo!!) I though I would give it a try. I will say it makes for a very smooth and great tasting expresso (perhaps a bit better if not similar to Lavazza SC) but at more than twice the cost I don't think it's worth the xtra $$

Good Coffee
So, first off, I'm a huge fan of good coffee, but this was my first time making coffee completely from scratch. I've been wanting to start drinking coffee in the morning, but I don't like having too much. I'm more of a one cup ever person, because I'm really strict about my caffeine intake, lol. Possibly to a fault there, but that's more of a personal thing...I got this coffee with a new grinder and an Aeropress all in the same box on the same day, so this was literally my first time using any of these things. I research a lot, and it's not like it's hard to figure out super simple stuff, but I did screw up a little where I think it'll be better in the future.Regardless of that, the coffee was really good. I actually like my coffee a little bitter sometimes, but this wasn't bitter at all. That was fine. Really smooth finish and I enjoyed it. I tried it out with some grass-fed unsalted butter/coconut oil recipe (just those things, no sugar/milk) and I enjoyed it. I tried some without either of those, just black, and it was also good. So overall it's just really good coffee, but if you're looking for something with a little more of a bitter flavor, I'd go with a stronger blend. It's a good all-around coffee, though, and good to have around for guests where you don't know their coffee preferences.I like the beans part, though, because I can just grind up a cup whenever I want. I think any grinder is fine. I loved using the Aeropress, too. I believe that I used it a little too quickly, though, so I think I can squeak out a bit more flavor from the coffee in the future if I slow down there. It was my first time, so I was kind of excited, lol. For those who aren't familiar with the Aeropress, once you have hot water you can basically make a cup of coffee in ~30 seconds (I think mine was more like 20 seconds, though). I wasn't entirely sure how much to use, either, so I just used the scoop from the Aeropress to measure the beans (though the instructions said 2 scoops, but I think that might be a bit much? I would guess 1.5 Aeropress scooper scoops of beans, grind those, and use that would be perfect. I only used 1 scoop, so next time I'll screw around with that). So, overall, good coffee. Nice flavor. Mixed well and tasted good with unconventional coffee accoutrements that I haven't tried before, so that was a bonus. Tasted fine black, too. I assume it tastes fine with any good ingredients. Not the most powerful flavor, but you don't always need some huge rush of taste overpowering your senses, you know? Definitely a nice medium roast, and the crema/heavy dark chocolate flavor is accurate. I'd say more like a ~60% dark chocolate. I'll definitely be trying out a stronger roast from them later, though, as occasionally i'm a huge 80-90% dark chocolate fan, and I'm hoping they've got a coffee that can sate those types of desires. They've got a ton of different types/flavors, so I'm definitely excited to try more.

Great cup of coffee
This brand was recommended by The Dizzy Cook on FaceBook. The Swiss Water process keeps the chemicals at bay. When I open coffee by Maxwell House, I can now smell the chemicals in the coffee. This brand's aroma is what coffee should smell like. I have ordered this brand over and over again and will continue to do so. Helping with migraine management.

For espresso lovers who don't want their beans incinerated
...and yes, I know that "them's fightin' words" to those who love deep, darker-than-dark espresso but I'm of the school that believes taste is sacrificed to too great a degree, even with the best beans, if you go much past the vaunted "second crack". And I notice that more people are joining me in this opinion lately, which is one reason Starbucks lately is on the "blonde" (or is it "blonde?") bandwagon. If you don't want anything short of jet black and oily, keep looking. (But you don't know what you are missing.)I'm already a huge fan of Jo Coffee. Tree Hugger Jo is solid. Farmer's Market Jo gets me positively rhapsodic, and it apparently ships close enough to the roast date that it can go toe to toe with my local (small) roaster. (Although to be fair, a lot of that guy's stuff is a week past roast date.)I grind and fill my own generic Nespresso capsules: My-Cap Foil Seals to Reuse Your Nespresso Capsules (96 Foils) . Nespresso coffee has crema, but is more "espresso-like" than actual espresso, also better than 99% of the brewed coffee out there in my book. The Jo Espresso in a Nespresso is probably about as close as you can get to really-good-barista espresso without a major investment of money for a Gaggia or whatever and then investment of considerable time as a hobbyist chasing that perfect cup. I can get a somewhat better roast profile with green coffee beans (like this one: Coffee Bean Direct Italian Roast Espresso, Whole Bean Coffee, 5-Pound Bag ) in my Poppery I popcorn popper1) when I have the time,2) when weather permits outdoor roasting -- the beans make considerable smoke!; and3) when the gods are smiling. Popcorn coffee roasting is far from an exact science. That said, for everyday purposes, it's going to take something pretty amazing to woo me away from Jo Espresso.

The best coffee ever
It has specific taste, but in terms of caffeine content and the effect it produces in the body this coffee does not have any competitor on Earth
