Would the speaker be loud enough to use this as a radio for the drive in movie theater?

It’s loud like a regular radio. And has am/fm/weather. This is my second Eton. Great for sever weather notification.

How do you turn off the alarm on this?

Thank you for your interest in the Eton American Red Cross FRX2 Radio. The manual can be downloaded at https://etoncorp.com/collections/all/products/american-red-cross-frx2. To adjust the clock and alarm: turn unit off and press & hold the ETON Dial. This will allow you to cycle through the clock and alarm settings. The final option is to activate or deactivate the alarm. When the alarm is activated, "ALARM" will be displayed on the screen. When the alarm sounds, press the ETON Dial to turn off the alarm. There is no snooze feature.

How long does it take to charge completely by solar and by cranking?

Spin the hand turbine for one minute to get 10-15 minutes of radio and flashlight use or place the FRX2 in the sun for a passive charging option.

The frx2 i just received has a 500mah battery. but the amazon description says it has a 1000mah battery. did i get old stock?

maybe there are different models because the one i have is 2600 mah, but i didn't get the one i own from Amazon. mine is FRX3+ American red cross model
