A quality product, clean and mold/mildew free.
Used in my electric smoker. I use the electric smoker to prevent introducing off flavors from poor quality charcoal and I have never had a good experience with pellet smokers. But this raw/pure sawdust gives off clean smoke. This product is to fine to get good results in a traditional wood/charcoal fire smoker, but works flawlessly in electric heat element models.

Microwave before Using - That's the Secret!
I love this product! I use it to cold smoke raw sausage fatties (ie-Jimmy Dean), block cheese, and primo steaks prior to high heat grilling for superior flavor because it is naturally dried. The primary benefit of using the sawdust is because of the superior flavor and that it DOES NOT generate heat like pellets (or chips) do in a cold smoke generator On a warm day, like 40 degrees, I can cold smoke the sausage or cheese, without getting greasy or slightly getting cooked. Cheeses like mild cheddar, swiss, colby, jacks, and especially mozzarella.....they tend to get soft, mis-shapened, and get that greasy exterior. Not so with pellets or chips. The primary complaint of this product is that the sawdust may not burn consistently, or go out often. I have experienced this a few times and my summation is that it happens because either the air is very humid (rain/summer) or the product in not adequately dried.Regardless, it has been in my BEST EXPERIENCE to microwave the sawdust (about 1-cup for 30 seconds/2 cups for 1-minute) prior to adding to the cold smoke generator. The end result is a drier product with a smoother burn, a cooler and more consistent smoke. Gently stirring of the sawdust prior to adding to the generator guarantees the most consistent smoke for the most superior product.Microwave BEFORE using!

Works great!
I had been ordering my sawdust from a specialty sausage making company and it was very expensive. Tried this to compare and it works great! Fast shipping and great price. Made some pepperoni and jerky and this produced plenty of smoke. Good product was worth the switch.

Good, inexpensive, not really DUST, more like teeny tiny shavings.
Used it in a cardboard box smoker (electric hot plate with a cast iron skillet full of sawdust) for salmon, one bag is enough for well over 24 hours of smoking. No off flavors, smokes pretty well. My only wish is that I wish it was really DUST, not these superfine chips, as it'd smoke a bit better. As it is, it gets the job done just fine, so all is well in the end, and one bag is enough to smoke two big salmon in my smoker, so for the price, I'm happy! Will buy again.

Need to dry before it can burn.
As a couple of other buyers have commented, you will need to dry it in the microwave or oven before you are able to use it in a cold smoker. It's too wet to get started to burn. Might work well on electrical smokers or other that don't require it to be able to burn itself. It's handle to have a small burner to light or a strong lighter.

Good quality for composting
I'm not a meat eater, but this hardwood sawdust is dry and BEAUTIFUL! There was only one flaw: I almost spilled my precious dust everywhere when the bag tore lengthwise under the Ziploc. ALMOST. Whew! Caught it! Fortunately, I have other containers. Just FYI for the mfg. Info.
