The male thread on the ball valve part is actually 1/2, not 1/4. And the male and female threads of the straight tube are both 3/4, not 1/2. I don't know if I received the wrong one or not. But I was able to connect it to a different part under my sink, which still allows it to serve its purpose. However, it leaks, I think due to poor design. Because these are two separate parts, once you screw in the ball valve part into the straight tube, it extends about halfway inside the tube. What happens is some water is being blocked by that overextension inside and thus some water being pushed under the overextension and out, creating a leak. I was able to slow it significantly by using A LOT of teflon tape and tightening it hard to where it's not a big issue, but I'll replace it down the line and try something else.

I would not recommend this RO tee valve. After 6 years in use, leak occurred and I only found out after its been leaking for a while. Caused a flooding mess. RO valve just came off, no unscrewing, etc. After I took the entire assembly out, I noticed that it just corroded and broke leaving part of it in the main tee. Gave it 1 additional star for lasting 6 years. But would rather have not got it in the first place. I replaced this with a new brass assembly RO tee valve. This one should last much longer.

I had a leaking valve from one of the other Amazon fridge water line kits. This is the replacement piece and it works great. No more leaking.

Needed this to install a reverse osmosis system and it worked as designed

Probably works, but I want pleased with it when I got it. It's just a fitting drilled and tapped and then it comes with a valve to screw in the fitting. I don't think there is enough thread engagement. Also the valve will only accept a plastic tube, you cannot thread on a hose that already has a compression fitting. The part was just not what I thought it was and poorly made, in my opinion.

The Tee union joint part constantly leaks which makes this non-usable
