Wedge Door Stop

At my house I can't use even VERY heavy doorstops. I have to use a wedge doorstop, and love the design of this doorstop by Blomus. Why? It is very skinny on the leading edge, so in our modern home with large maple doors over terracotta porcelain tiles I am able to wedge enough of the edge under the door so the Blomus stays put and does its job.In areas where the doors have more clearance between the floor and the bottom of the door, for example at exit and entrance doors, or the french doors, the Blomus will wedge up to a 1 inch gap. Perfect: micro gap to maximum gap, the wedge fits and then can be pulled out easily with the attractive stainless pull. Note: for maximum wedging push the Blomus in with your foot while lifting up slightly on the door handle.Why do I need such an effective doorstop? Well... my dog likes to get into the area where Mr. Kitty has his cat litter in order to seek out a tasty (disgusting) snack. With the doors wedged shut - or open - however you want to think of it, there is just enough room for Mr. Kitty to go in and out to take care of his business without allowing Mr. Puppy to go in looking for snacks. And the doorstops even look attractive. I'd prefer not to have to have doorstops in this location, as it is also my laundry area, but we do what we have to in order to keep the animals safe and eating appropriately while we are at work. The Blomus is the only doorstop I've found that is 100% effective, which means that the dog can't nose them out of his way, and I can easily remove them using the very modern handle.This is a great design. It is attractive and fully functional for my application. Measure your floor-to-door gap and you will know if it will work for you.

This would be a great door stop for a interior door. I wanted to use it for a heavy garage door and it wasn't tall enough to stop it. The door went right over the top. I was surprised it wasn't bigger when it arrived. It would have done a great job had it been about 30% bigger. I retuned it since it was too small for my use.

Might be nice to look at, but it's hopelessly small and does not work in holding ANY of my doors open when the windows are open a a breaze is blowing through the house.

With hundreds of door stops on the market today, the consumer has a lot of choices. This is certainly one of the best choices. This door stop screams beauty and quality. It's almost too nice to use. The heavyweight feel of the Blomus wedge door stop is extremely appealing. I use it to keep very heavy solid wood core doors and hollow metal doors propped open without any problems whatsoever. FYI: The only other door stop that I like besides the Blomus is the Stoppy.

doesn't hold my heavy door, even with two- probably good for a light door

The ONLY doorstop that I've found will keep open my super heavy, spring-laden front door. Simply slide under firmly and I no longer have the door closing on me when I am attempting to bring in groceries. WIN!!

Apres plusieurs années d'utilisation, bon produit même s'il faut ajouter dessous des tampons transparent anti dérapant, c'est le seul dommage au vu du prix.

OK these door wedges cost a fair bit more than the bulk-standards but they are so much better quality and look stylish as well. The hook at the back also gives you something to pull when removing the item and could be used to insert a walking stick/pole for those who struggle with bending. Excellent product - I now have 3 of them!
