Best Harness, Most Secure Yet
Out of many leashes, this is the only one she is safe in since there's nothing between her front legs she can wedge her leg under to push out of. It's very secure under supervision even when she's been spooked. If I put it on her at home, she can go under the couch and eventually get it off by wedging herself against the ground backwards so I wouldn't recommend leaving them alone with it on, but it takes time. She's 9lbs and very slim underneath the fluff, a large fits her proportionally with the velcro overlapping all the way. It will also fit a heavier built cat of a similar size. It works with long haired cats, you just need to slide your hand so all the fur is brushed aside before you seal it. It's well made and not flimsy. The velcro has held up well since I got it around a year ago. If your cat becomes mashed potatoes when you put it on them, try taking them out anyway, she forgets to melt when she's on the trail. Highly recommend a double sided clip dog leash extender or similar to attach the leash loop to a backpack or belt loop so you can use both hands if need be and they're still attached to you if you drop the leash.

Works well a bit tight
I bought this item not to walk my cat, but he has a scratch wound near his neck that he kept scratching and reopening, making it worse. This harness saved the day (and an expensive vet visit), it covered the wound to allow it time to heal, and prevented him from scratching it again and again. The product itself is well made, he did not struggle when I put it on him, which is a surprise since he will not let me put him in a carrier at all. But he accepted this harness and has been fine with it, likely because it feels like a security blanket. The fit around the neck is fine, but it needs 3-4 more inches around the body to make it a comfortable fit. Currently it's a bit tight around the body, as if this product at its largest version is made for slim cats. Imagine purchasing a pair of slim fit jeans. Over the course of a week it has loosened a bit so he feels better now, but initially I was barely able to wrap it around my adult cat's body. It was a pretty tight fit and I was unsure if it was going to work.So kudos to this wonderful product, it does work, and my cat is getting better because of it. The manufacturer should extend the body part by 3-4 inches, so it will fit more cats. I would imagine this product likely does not work for a large population of large adult cats. Aside from that, this is a great cat harness, and my cat accepted it without any issues.

Harness Escapes in General…
I am revising my original review of this product. Given that my cat backed out of, and escaped this harness twice, I was justifiably concerned about my cat’s safety and gave this harness only 2 stars. I have learned ALOT about cat harnesses through this experience the most important of which is that there is NO SUCH THING as an ‘escape-proof’ cat harness. Product manufacturers who exclaim so are either more dedicated to profits than they are to telling the truth, or they know absolutely nothing about cats.HAVING SAID THAT… Much of the blame for cat harness escapes goes under the category of ‘Operator Error.’ Harnesses work well when the cat is walking away from you or if they are on your side. If there is any strain or restriction on the leash, the harness is pulled aft (backwards) and restrains the cat. IF, HOWEVER, you wind up in a situation where the cat is facing you whilst pulling back in the opposite direction against the leash, the cat will undoubtedly pull himself or herself out of the harness guaranteed. You’ll then be left with both the leash AND the harness in your hand - with no cat. So the trick to successful cat harness walking lies with the leash holder and the leash holder’s position relative to the cat.Once a cat escapes the harness it is bye bye, and the race and the risk is on. I highly recommend that - in addition to a harness - you also use a cat collar with an identification tag as well as a GPS. Yes, the collar and GPS will add additional bulk under the cat’s chin, but you will incur much less panic knowing that if your cat gets out of the harness, he/she will still have the added security of wearing a collar ID and GPS.Review Revised: Now I give this cat harness 4 stars. It’s well made out of soft material, and it is available in many colors. and patterns. The only thing keeping me from giving it 5 stars is that, in my opinion, the front, velcro closure straps could be cut/sized a much better.
