IKEAPoang Footstool Ottoman Frame, Medium Brown (Frame Only, No Cushion)

I bought this Poang footrest and chair on Amazon after discovering that IKEA doesn’t stock these anymore. I had a set 35 years ago and used them for 20 years with 5 kids bouncing on them. Then one of my grown daughters took them and used them in college, then she gave them to a friend who STILL has them. WHY did IKEA discontinue this durable classic?! Anyway… if you can find one, buy it. (Caveat - cushions may need to be recovered if you go with light colored canvas covers.)

IKEA Poang Chair and Footstool are a timeless classic design. Not only do they look cool, they are also very comfortable to sit in. I wanted this footstool to match the brown Poang chair that I already owned. When it arrived it was an almost black color. Not like the picture and not as described. I ended up keeping it and ordering an "almost black" Poang chair to match. Can't have too many IKEA Poang chairs and footstools.

I liked the ottoman. However, you have to order the cover separately and the combination cost is nearly triple what you can get it for at the IKEA store. I just didn’t have a store near me, nor does IKEA ship to the area I’m in. That was very disappointing!

Like some other reviewers, the color delivered is different from the description. Description says “medium brown“ but the piece I got is “dark brown”. See picturesProduct itself is good, it’s more an issue with the description.first picture shows the two colors side-by-side

I received "brown", not "medium brown" (the discontinued color). Do not order this if you are expecting the lighter brown color that is discontinued.EDIT: I was able to work this out with the seller, who was very understanding.
