Replacement Cartridge for P2201 and P2301

This cartridge is great. It filters out chlorine and other nastiness and can last anywhere from about 8 to 12 months. In my hometown, these will last 12 months with daily usage, but in my college town (where the water is a little funkier), they only last 8 months. Still, to have 8 months of clean, truly clean water to shower in is a wonderful thing and they're cheap enough to make buying them two or three at a time an easy thing on the pocketbook. Unlike most carbon filters, these won't give you a stream of black gunk when the hot water runs...until right up at the end of the filter's lifespan. You might see a few stray particles when the water first starts, but it's otherwise clear. I can't shower without one of these in my filter unit.

Unless you have a home filtration system or your own underground aquifer in Iowa, it's recommended to invest in something for better water. Due to chemical and farm run offs annually, our water requires some heavy duty scrubbing in the Spring which can leave your skin feeling a bit off. This filter on the shower head helps our water (which runs hard, and in the Spring, chlorine heavy) equalize. I've used it for 3 years and wouldn't go back, only forward (if my wife allowed me to buy a home filtration system.) Be kind to your skin and use this.

Didn't notice the difference as I once did a few years ago. We have city water and wanted to get rid of some of chlorine so i wouldn't dry out my skin, and didn't notice much with this one for some reason.

Wouldn't want to shower without it! No chlorine makes my skin feel great. The filter lasts through many, many showers for me, but that may be due to our particular water quality in our city. I really like thus product.

But I am happy to have it on hand for when I do decide to replace my current filter. be prepared

We have extremely hard water here in Tucson - so I have to replace this every 3 months or so - but boy - it sure does the job! Been using them for two years now. Excellent product! Easy to change, easy to use. So thankful.

Do yourself a favor and go to homedepot.com to buy this item- it is only 12.96- you will add a dollar or so for tax though and then with shipping I still got this for a few bucks cheaper than here on Amazon. The product works- but not for very long. I started noticing a decrease in quality after a few months and now I am spending almost what I paid for the entire part itself just for a filter replacement! Makes no sense but they definitely "gotcha" on this one. It's pretty much a money pit but it is still worth it because we have high levels of chlorine in our water that the water softener does not filter out.

I have used this shower filter for about 16 years. I but the filters 3 times a year and have been pretty happy with it. I live in an area with well water. My water smells like eggs due to high contents of sulfur in it. I have tried different brand filters and they helped none making my skin extremely dry and itchy including my scalp. After using Paragon I have been nothing but happy. It filters out the smell of eggs and makes water fresh and pure. Its finally a pleasure to take a shower now. It not only filters out the sulfur but chlorine also not to mention some other sediments. I highly recommend using this filter if you have bad water in your area or if you have city chlorinated water you can only improve your water and your skin.
