It's not easy to cook a perfect steak, even if you're a pro. With the Thermometer, now anyone can cook perfect meat. Every time. The Thermometer is an electronic thermometer that tells you exactly when to remove the meat from the grill. It allows you to enter a resting phase, where the meat continues to cook off the heat. It's the resting phase that even the most inexperienced grill master often misjudges, causing the meat to overcook to the desired level of doneness. The Thermometer calculates all this for you and lets you know when to remove the meat from the grill, exiting the resting phase at the exact level you've selected. The Thermometer makes a great gift. Available in five levels of doneness, from Rare to Well Done, there's a thermometer for every taste. Calibrated for steak, but usable on other proteins as well. Select Medium or Medium-well for poultry and fish. The thermometer signals you with a flashing LED when it's time to remove your meat from the grill and also when the meat has finished resting and is ready to eat. The thermometer measures the temperature across the entire surface of the device to ensure maximum accuracy. The thermometer works under any starting conditions, whether it's cold meat out of the refrigerator or one that's at room temperature. The thermometer also takes into account the meat's fat content. The thermometer is battery-operated and good for at least 1,000 uses. If used every day, that's more than three years of cooking time with the thermometer. The thermometer is placed in the meat before putting it on the grill and can withstand temperatures up to 600 degrees Fahrenheit. It is not recommended for use when cooking on infrared barbecues due to the very high temperatures reached on the grills. The thermometer is made of high-grade stainless steel.

I finally thought I better just cut and look--well done
Would give no stars if possible. Just ruined by overlooking a very expensive cut of meat. I had both the medium rare and medium inserted and neither went off. I finally thought I better just cut and look--well done. The two are headed to garbage--beware.
