Really Nice Build For the $
Considering I haven’t built one of these since the third grade and I am 42 lol, I think for as frustrating as it could be sometime this turned out great! Will come back after launching it soon and update with a video, but this is an awesome historic NASA rocket that makes an excellent reusable model rocket or scale model! But be ready to put some work in finishing this one my friends!

Building the escape tower is a challenge but with patience it's doable and pretty sturdy once finished
Not a precisely scale model, but for a flying model it's more than satisfying. Building the escape tower is a challenge but with patience it's doable and pretty sturdy once finished. The fins are surprising rugged. Make sure you use the proper C6-3 engines; if you use an engine with a longer delay the rocket may not be high enough for a safe parachute recovery by the time the ejection charge goes off.

Poorly designed rocket kit, not for the faint of heart.
Ugh this rocket is a pain to build. It's an older model just reissued. It's a level 3 or 4. For example to build thr wood fins need to be glued together. Then filed down to the correct thickness. Then cardboard pieces need to be glued with another wood piece. All of this to make one fin. DO Not get me started on the capsule or escape tower. Trying to glue ill fitting pices to make a cylinder or parts to make a triangle to fit on a circle is ridiculous. Great looking model, not for the faint of heart. Lots of skill is needed. Estes can do better designing this kit.

Good quality build of a scaled rocket
Excellent kit- do recommend using some CA glue and accelerator for the capsule. It’s known to be tricky. This isn’t for beginners. Look forward to flying and seeing how the balsa putty works.

Best looking rocket out there
Not an easy build but sooooo worth it! Classic style! Cant wait to launch it. Be careful assembling the tower and align the pieces before hand to avoid surprises. I highly recommend!

Great kit! Need some modeling skills
I had no trouble with the kit. If you’re having troubles with the Escape Tower, masking tape works wonders, and keeps your hands free for other tasks. I used Tamiya extra thin cement.I built this kit in the early 70’s. The capsule and the Escape tower were wood. A couple of 3/32” dowels that you had to cut to a pattern! The capsule had a card stock wrap-around with the markings on it, that was fun🤨!The new styrene capsule and tower facilitate this build immensely!
