Great whistles!Very sturdy. I like metal better than plastic and I like that these don't have peas or ball bearings.One other thing: while you can blow softly for a gentler sound, when you blow hard these are probably the loudest whistles I've ever whistled.

I bought the whistle for purpouse of survival while backpacking and hiking. I tested it in a Andean "paramo" over 5,126 meters over the sea level and was heard over 2 miles away. Of course I blew my lungs out but in case of a survival matter it will surely proof as a great whistle.

I got this just for a costume and I tried the whistle to see how loud this thing is,the pitch isnt hard on the ears and gives that authentic sound of Old England police officer but in a survival situation,nah. My department whisle is louder than this by factor of 10.

Just like the Bobby's use in London. Loud enough and reasonably priced. I might be hard for a little one to use.

Purchased this for my DOG to hear. He comes running when I blow on it. I wear it always on walks not only for my safety but his as well. It is indeed loud if you need it to be. It can be a short, shrill sound as well. Very pleased I purchased it.

Seems like an authentic sound of British police and WW1 trench whistle according to what I hear on videos. I have other whistles that seem louder and more shrill.

I didn't buy this for any reason other than to have it for a decorative item on my key chain. Larger objects help me find my keys in my purse. The sound of the whistle is adequate enough to draw attention, if needed.
