Worked great!
Arrived much quicker than expected. I scanned the CD and didn't find any trojans, unusual for a Chinese knock off. It wasn't clear from the description that this needs to be installed on a 32 bit system. Luckily I use VMware workstation and had an XP Virtual Machine available. VMware player is free if you need to use it but you will need to Google for an XP install and Key.The CD came with instructions that were minimal but worked. You need to run the .MSI file first, connect the cable and let XP install the driver. Once that is done run the .EXE file to install Techstream. Follow in that sequence and you shouldn't have any problems.Don't connect the cable before you run the MSI or you will probably have issues. After that I plugged it into the OBDC II connector, set the key to on and ran Techstream. Clicked Connect and was in. I had my two Fobs programmed in under 5 minutes.2008 Tundra Double Cab with 5.7L.

10.10.018 software on a full-sized CD
This cable came with version 10.10.018 software on a full-sized CD. (Virus-free, per MS SE) It also had a few earlier versions of the software.I installed 10.10.018, but it didn't have a USB driver in that sub dir. So, I used the USB driver in the next newest version(9.30.002) subdir. Before I could test it on the RAV4, MS Vista Windows installed another USB driver from somewhere.. So, I had to re-install the driver from the CD..Once I got the Green LED on the cable dongle, I was blocked by the "Enter New Key" (software key).A website in the UK had the 'key'. See below. They ran the path together, but it's still usable, if you look close..Google how-to-install-xhorse-mini-vci-toyota-techstream-v10-10-018/See Step 2. to see the 'TISFunction' edit needed.Anyways, it's connecting to the RAV4 fine. Ran a "health check" & didn't see anything wrong..This rig will likely allow me to add a new 3-button-remote key.. Since the dealer only gave me one. Plus one button-less key..Edit: 8/26/2016I found a nice guide for adding more keys on a forum. Google "92843-adding-extra-key-using-techstream"Being old and slow, it took a three attempts to get the immobilizer and remote buttons programmed into the car, so it took me about 15 minutes, to get the job done. (Had to go back inside to get the mouse, then the Mini Vic cable)..Now, all I need is a locksmith that can grind this type of key..

Works, but quite sloppily built.
I actually disassembled the cable connector before plugging it into my ES 350. Wanted to make sure manufacturing didn't unintentionally blow up my car! Found solder blobs bridging circuit board traces near unused connector pins, which is not what I wanted to find! Sloppy job inside in my opinion... and this opinion is from an Aerospace electronic engineer! Did more visuals on the circuit board and didn't notice anything obvious. Put it back together and took a chance and used it. Worked fine. 3 stars for what I consider mass-produced built-in-China hardware! What did I expect for $22, right!

Would be nice if it worked
The cable is well made and it does light up. What is not heavily explained is the designed this to be used with Windows XP. Windows XP has been out of production for 10 years. Only if you have an old laptop that is still running this antiquated OS would this be of any good. I have been working with it and for some reason it doesn't communicate. The light lights up but it doesn't see the vehicle computer. That is why it is so cheap.

It works! Used this and TechStream to program Lexus keys.
It works! I was a bit scared from Curtis's review saying he found solder bridges. So I did take it apart to check it out. No bridging, although they did needlessly used a bunch of solder. And it looked like they did not wash off the flux. This is coming from an Aerospace SMT Technician. All in all, it worked for my purpose. Although it was a bit slow, not sure if it's my old laptop at fault or this cable's communication.I used it to program new keys to my 2006 Lexus RX 400h. I'm extremely happy it worked. Because I spend more than 2 hours doing the chicken dance, but my car refused to get into the remote programming mode. Fortunately, TechStream and this cable worked flawlessly and effortlessly to get my keys programmed.

Dissapointed in results. No support beyond getting your $$.
I wouldn't buy it again. Software works. Cable does not. The drivers for this cable are not compatible with Windows 7 64 bit. Major incompatibility issues with Windows 7 64 bit. Read all the blogs and posts. No new information for getting this to work with my OS.

Does what it's intended to do
I used this Mini-VCI cable to connect my laptop to the computers in my 2006 Toyota Prius that was having some issues. Please note: THIS DOES NOT COME WITH TECHSTREAM TIS!!!! You'll have to source that on your own.Other than that it has all the features you need to interface a computer with the OBDII port on your car.Quality seems just fine. I didn't feel it necessary to look for solder bridging or other defects. The case is clear plastic and from what I could see it looked fine.I'm taking off one star for customer service. I contacted them via the email in the package and didn't hear back within 48 hours. I'm still waiting. But I also no longer need their help...so.
