Uneven quality.
Seems like a good idea in principle, as it removes the need for screws or solder, there's a good video of how to fit on the Sewell website. I needed 12 for my 6 channel amp - but when fitting the final plug, it was too fat for the amp terminal... it simply refused to go in. By that point I had stripped and fitted the other 11 cables and plugs, so couldn't repackage for return. I used a file to make the rogue plug smaller, but now it is a bit sloppy, and you can see that they are not actually that well made, with a thin coating of gold, (most of which has chipped off) with many thin sections to make the total plug. Because it is impossible to contact the company direct, and Amazon only allow refund upon return, there is no conversation by which I can have a single plug sent to me. I do not want to remove the plugs I have fitted, as it will ruin the cables I've already stripped. I also don't want to pay to send them back.I guess the only proper way is to buy proper solderable plugs and solder the cables in. I wish Amazon would lend some nuance to the refund process.

Simple to fit, Stunning sound.. Very impressed
I bought these Sewell deadbolts to connect my KEF 5.1 setup in Bi-Wired Configuration to my Sony STR-DN850 receiver and the have worked very well indeed and i'm really impressed with them.fitting wire into them is very simple and very well designed. Firstly slide the deadbolt over the cable (Red to + or Black to -), strip about 6mm of plastic off the end of the cable then spread out the copper wire evenly so it looks like a chimney sweep then slide over the top part of the deadbolt and screw it onto the other section. if you stripped the wire back to far you may need to try again or push it down into the black section. once screwed down, the wire is very secure and has great contact with the gold connector.when I was looking for a set of banana plugs I was worried that due to Bi-Wiring I would not be able to fit two cables into one deadbolt on the receiver end. However these did the job well and i managed to fit both of my 13 Gauge wires into one although I had to install them a little differently.I stripped both wires back by about 2cm then twisted both together tightly so it was thin enough to fit through the hole in the deadbolt. Once it was pushed in tightly I untwisted the copper wire and trimmed it down to about 6mm and from there it was the same as a single wire. The gold plated connectors are high quality and fit snugly into both my speakers and my receiver with no play at all.As for sound, I think they definitely made the sound a bit nicer, however I mainly got these for the ease of connecting/disconnecting. Sewell do quite a few different types of banana plugs but these are amazing.. I definitely recommend them 100%

As simple and effective as they should be
Banana plugs really *should* be simple. And yet it's amazing how many manufacturers have managed to create banana plugs that are a headache: tricky to attach to speaker wires, poor connections, etc. These Deadbolt plugs from Sewell do not fall into that category, thankfully. They are as gloriously simple and effective as they should be. Just unscrew, push speaker wire through, fan it out over the 'teeth', then screw the plug back up. Done. 30-60 seconds work, and a perfect, trouble-free connection. What a relief.I'm using mine with some rather thick cable (I'd estimate somewhere between 8 and 6 AWG -- 3-4mm diameter of wire), and many other banana plugs can't handle cable of this thickness without creating mess and hassle. These plugs work fine with it -- another bonus.

Banana plugs....
As a musician with a huge pedal board I love the idea of solderless jack plugs, but my goodness do you have to pay for them..£80 £100 for 10 or something ridiculous, so when I went to hook up my 5.1 and needed solderless connectors I thought I was in for the same treat of being royally ripped off...but..NO...these things are great. Super easy to put together, built like little tanks and work perfectly and great value for money..... so the likes of George L, etc listen up... you see you can produce top rated, well designed, solidly built solder less connectors without ripping people off..Would I buy these again? In a heartbeat...brilliant.

Great speaker plugs.
Very easy to use and tight fit for both my Audiolab amplifiers, my main speakers (DynAudio Excite 12) , the Tannoy speakers in the other room and all the wall sockets. As with various commentors on the Amazon.com website, you may be able to hear a slight difference in a straight comparison against very expensive speaker plugs but you wouldn't be able to tell if there was a few hours between the listening sessions. They are also much less bulky than my previous banana plugs and give a more secure grip on the cable.

I thought I had already reviewed these but maybe not! They are so good for the price compared to "audiophile" ones that I feel ive bagged a real bargain. It was good fun setting them up and they look so professional compared to my previous efforts with bare wire. Buy them but make sure you buy enough!!

Very good contact if connected with speaker cable properly
I could only say a quality product. Very good contact if connected with speaker cable properly. Used with chord Leyline speaker cable connecting my Kef speakers to Yamaha award winner av reciever. I previously used chord banana 4mm soldered version but this Sewell has also desame quality and easy to fit. Well made 24k gold plated solid conductor. I boght this as a cheaper alternative of having 5.1 dpeaker to my bedroom.

Nice & neat
Nice and neat, easy to fit, just needed a wire stripper_ cut off 8 mm,fed through, fanned out wire like a flower-then folded over first half of plug-tucked in with small straight screwdriver for good measure and then screwed and tightened second half of plug.Job done

Great Product
Excellent product, would not hesitate to buy again. Only wish they would package 8 pairs rather than 6 as you have to buy two packs if you have two hifi systems
