Fine powder makes a good, soothing tea that is tasty without adding sugar or milk.

Cant remember why I originally started taking this product but something amazing happened. I have always had multiple bathroom breaks during the night. Sometimes up to 6 times. UNTIL started taking milk thistle in my regular pill regiment. I actually make my own pill supplements, this way I know there are no hidden ingredients. So how have my visits changed during the night? ALOT! When taken regularly, my visits have reduced to 2 times maximum to most time one per night, or there have been a few zero visits. Simply amazing. It might not effect everybody like this but worth a try. I actually ordered this same product again, the day of this review.

How I take this product: in the morning, heaping 1-2 tablespoon in glass of warm water along with l-glutamine and cinnamon powder(not always), sometimes mixed with powder greensAs a gastrointestinal sufferer I constantly search for products to help me get relief. I have a fatty liver and I am missing a gallbladder. Even though I have no acute pain after the removal I am often bloated and pretty much always constipated. As a semi attractive 36 yo, this is a horrible issue as no matter what I do there are always the 10 lbs lingering, and I am often way too stuffy and bloated to even gather energy to exercise. Even if I eat light food, does not matter. I have cut down my food intake to 50% when I joined my current job-no snacking all day, as I used to when I freelanced. Most of my life I teeter at the edge of decent lifestyle and decent diet, but unable to ever completely detoxify and spring to full health. My sweet tooth tendencies are sabotaging me too. I have read a lot about Milk Thistle before I purchased and figured this is the one thing I need. I have now been using it for a while and although there was no immediate difference(like with some detox supplements) I feel that it finally started kicking in. I have been semi regular for a few days now and it seems to clear my skin as well as restore some sense of calm/rational thinking(I used to freak out about being constipated). I have blue eyes and had a growing yellowish spot on my iris in the area of liver(according to iris diagnostics). I have noticed this spot has gotten smaller and truly believe it is due to my liver slowly cleansing. I try to avoid gluten and processed foods. But his is basically my morning routine.I would recommend this product but I urge you to stick with it for a while to see improvements.

Geez where did this product pop up from! Quality bulk organic milk thistle power at a steal of a price! Comparatively speaking, I thought I was getting a deal with organic power (marketed as something to create a tea from, and is $12.99 for 2 oz. TWO OUNCES. Plus I started to notice an inconsistency of freshness / color / etc. Then here the Starwest Botanicals pure milk thistle power appears to me... $7 more for a whole pound.I'm all about buying things in bulk - Costco shopper checking in - and I have found that products for my everyday nutrition and health are best purchased this way and self-capsuled to save a ton of money and know exactly what I'm getting. I was first introduced to milk thistle when I was trying to pinpoint some health issues going on that may have been hormonal imbalance / estrogen dominance. A very informative site suggested a handful for of things to get everything balanced out again, and milk thistle /silymarin was suggested as it supports liver health - the organ that flushes toxins out of your body. Plus ya know, I'm no saint, and enjoy alcoholic beverages from time to time and whatnot. So there have been several reasons to keep this janitor organ happy and healthy and never considering a union strike on my body.The results? It's all speculative but I tell people all the time that I really don't even get the common cold anymore. I may have had one under-the-weather day that quickly resolved itself and thats about it... in like 2 years since I began my journey to better health. And thats what I've noticed with a lot of the things I decided to become standard daily consumption for my health: wonderful surprise side effects! Here I was just trying to get my female issues worked out and not only have I done that...I'm never sick anymore. I'll take it.For this product itself, I am very impressed already. It is a rich brown color (about the color of brown sugar as you see in the photo) and is very fresh. I have a hard time explaining the consistency other that it has a sponginess to it that makes manually capsule filling very easy. I have purchased manufactured milk thistle capsules of various brands, as well as the aforementioned power, and there has been so many differences in smell, taste, and color. All I can say is the rich, natural speckled brown with the sort of pine-y taste appears to be the most true products and that is what you get here. Very pleased!
