Hunter: The Origins of the Clan Hunter and Their Place in History (Scottish Clan Mini-Book)

Well this is a change! Most of my Amazon reviews are 5-star ones. In this case, I wish it were possible to award 'zero'! I ordered this book hoping to add to my knowledge about my ancestors. Sure, at 32-pages long it was only ever going to be a summary. I did expect however that the information it contained would be ACCURATE!!! This is a joke, compiled - I'm guessing - to be sold next to postcards in the naff 'touristy' shops on Edinburgh's Royal Mile!!! The first chapter (which only starts on page five - after a load of promotion for the publisher!) is obviously common to all of the clans in the series, since it explains what a 'clan' is. The following eighteen pages (written in large print, with wide spacing) contain vague information which is in places downright false, and only covers one branch of the family - no mention is made of the others! The Wikipedia article on the Mackenzies contains far, far more information (broadly accurate, too) than this - so don't waste your money!!!

A gift for my Dad's Birthday, have been doing our family tree. He is related to the Hunter clan through his Grandma.Lots of information, very helpfull.
