Science Purchase 12 Pack 8-inch Diameter Paper Chinese Lantern Lamp Shades for String Lights (White)

These were unbelievably reasonable priced! I was worried about 2 things:First, that they were going to be so cheap that they would tear like tissue paper. They actually turned out to be plenty sturdy, and looked great when assembled. After the event, we disassembled them and put them back into the bag. They look as good as when they arrived, and we will be able to use them again (and again).Second, that they would not arrive in time. If they had come at the end of the expected arrival time, we would have been sunk. They actually came near the beginning, but if you are ordering these make sure you take the long shipment time into consideration and order early.

I ordered these for my wedding and got them SUPER fast. I'll have to update after my wedding that's in July/2014. Great price and adorable lanterns. The only issue I had, which is totally my fault, I planned on putting those fake tea lights. in the center but these are actually meant to go around actual hanging light bulbs as sort of a lamp shade. I'm sure I can rig them to allow me to use the fake tea lights, it just would have been a bit easier if they had the little tray in the center for them. Again, that part was my fault.

Excellent communication and speedy delivery with this seller. As for the product, I used a lot of these lanterns as part of the decor for my wedding this past November. These were hung in a large tent using regular fishing line. Set up is very simple and I did not have any missing components. I would not recommend these lanterns for outdoor use as the paper is very thin and and moisture would likely ruin them (snow, rain, or even a thick marine layer if you live near the coast). Instead, I have heard the nylon lanterns are better for outdoor use. I had initially planned on placing LED lights within, but the logistics of turning on each light seemed complicated at the time. That being said, the lanterns themselves added a great ambiance to the reception just by themselves. I recommend multiple sizes for a layering effect. Overall satisfactory experience...and you can't beat the price!

I used these as a base for a nursery project and they worked beautifully. Easy to paint, easy to set up. My only advise is to be very gentle when inserting the center wire assembly as the tops can tear a bit under pressure. Minor tears, easy to stabilize with some Elmer's glue, and it did not happen with all lanterns, just those that I inserted the frame too quickly.I can recommend this as a craft project base. I would buy again.

These are definitely a cheaply made product, but come on... we are talking paper lanterns here. Do you plan to pass them on to your children? No, I don't think so. The paper is thin but standard for paper lanterns. The metal supports are very cheap and delicate, but are you hanging these things around or playing kickball with them? They hold up just fine. You can't beat the price either. We had a bunch of these lying on the ground and hanging up for a wedding reception. We were even able to salvage about half of them and keep them for later use. The paper lantern part holds up well--it's the metal support that was hit or miss as far as saving for later. Those break down when you take them apart.These look really fabulous with some white lights hanging in them!

These are great and easy to assemble and hang with fishline! We ordered in 8", 10", 12" and 16" to decorate pavilion for our daughter's wedding and they looked so festive over the dance floor. Though we used lights inside, they weren't bright enough to show up, but the paper lanterns looked beautiful and festive without any light!

Its a lantern and it lights things. I have bought several packs to hang on the costco outdoor hanging lights.PERFECT AMBIANCE You should try it.Some lanterns have bad.... welds... its pains me to call it a weld. Its more like a light amount of solder.However they last through the rain... it makes them dirty but at night you can't tell. It will last maybe a season... depending on where you live. I'm in so cal so..... to say we got rain is a joke.Any who. I'd buy again.

Lanterns processed and arrived quickly. We order 12 lanterns and only 11 are useable. One of the lanterns did not come with the metal piece that holds the lanterns shape so we can't use it.
