This display has a good picture and is pretty simple to set up, but the quality of the panel itself is very hit and miss.Upon removing the clear film from the 1st panel I received, I noticed a little mark in the top corner, not much but it was there and I wasn't happy so returned it for a replacement. The replacement arrived and to my surprise I found that the panel of glass on the front, hadn't been laminated to the panel with due care and attention as it had 3 air bubbles trapped underneath running along the edge, where dust had been trapped in as it was sealed. - It's unbelievable to consider this would happen in a (presumably) sterile environment, so this went back too.The third panel that arrived had only 1 very small air bubble so I thought oh well, I'll just make do. But when I powered it on, I found that where the ribbon enters at the bottom of the screen, there were 2 significant spots of light leak. These were even present when I put it into the acrylic frame; 2 bright orbs of light that weren't present on the previous 2 screens. As I didn't want to have to return it again, I decided to run a length of aluminium tape along the edge of the screen which conveniently hid the orange ribbon cable too, this solved the light leak issue.So in hindsight, this is a good quality screen when you get a good one, but beware that the production quality seems to be very inconsistent and I'd strongly advise that you remove the clear film when you first get it and hold it to the light and check for any issues. - You might also want to power it on and if you get light bleed, aluminium tape is your friend.

The touch screen is good and good resolution. The parts are well marked but the holding case looks very much like a cardboard not as per picture...

Purchased to use inside of my PC case, visable via the side window, to show my chosen PC stats. Due to it being on display, I ignored the included cables, which were of an OK quailty. Instead I went with pairing with some coloured Amazon Basic cables, both of which fitted and worked without issue. USB powered, connected via HDMI to the GPU, it is recognised and works perfectly with Windows 10.Pre installation testing showed the touch screen worked without any problems, however I can't comment on long time usage, as for me this is purely for visuals only. In it's current location, the 800x480 resolution is perfect for this usage, and the colours are decent enough that black is black, and white is white. Even the smallest text is readable and not blurred, even behind a smoked side window.The included "case" is designed for Pi usage, with the option to mount a Pi on the rear, not required in this instance. The plastics seem durable, and the addition of the protective backing paper initially give the impression that the case is brown, but after peeling you've a white front plate, and black rear plate. It's less of a case, and more of a mount solution as it's not all encompasing with the sides / rear both open and everything viewable. It also took a few minutes to Google the instructions on how to put it together, from the Waveshare website, as nothing was included in the package.This is the point where I have the only gripe with the product, that plastic front plate. The white plastic, while nice doesn't cover the screens ribbon cable, and leaves bare metal on view. While not the end of the world, it spoils the overall look of a super product. I chose to paint the white plastic black, along with the nylon mounting screws, using some normal acrylic paint. This reduced the overall distraction of the white plastic, in my otherwise black case. As you can see from the picture some light bleed around the ribbon is present, but it's not too bad in person.Overall, this was great addition to my PC, I'm very happy with the end result, and at just under £40 at the time of writing, was also great value. Everything was included to get up and running out of the box, and nothing else was needed.

if you want to use this for anything but a touch display i say go for it as its really good if you are using this just for the touchscreen part do not go for this the touch screen is quite unresponsive

Ordered this touchscreen display to work with a raspberry pi 4. Came with a HDMI cable and adapter for raspberry pi 4, power cable and mounting screws.Flower the online instructions provided by QR code. Plugged it in and all worked well, however, after no more than 30 minutes use, the touch functionality completely stopped working. After many hours wasted trying to trouble shoot the issue, it seems to be a faulty unit as nothing changed on the pi between it working and not working.If it had worked it would have received more stars. When investing my issues however it seems like other have had similar issues.Returning for refund.

Works well but wish it had some sort of backing for it

I bought this to use within the inside of my PC case to measure PC stats and it worked out really well. Very easy to install, it is powered by USB and connects via HDMI to the graphics card. Runs perfectly with Windows 10 without any problems. The included case made it easier with mounting it to my GPU holder within my PC, so that was an added bonus. Overall good value for money as it does what I needed.
