Good but sprays to fast
The formula seems to have changed on this. Sprays almost to fast. Maybe it was a tip change

Discontinued by MFG: No Rattle ball for mixing
I was never able to use this primer due to there not being a ball inside for mixing. I can hear the liquid inside, but no ball rattling. Even after shaking for 5 or so minutes I could not get it mixed enough to be an effective primer. It sprayed mostly clear. I contacted SEM and they said that they had discontinued the product a couple years back and that because the can I had was over a year old then it was no good. So, if it's bad after a year and has been discontinued for more than 2 years, DO NOT BUY BECAUSE IT IS PAST ITS SHELF LIFE!

nozzle clogs, can didn't even last for a single use, but only a half use. waste of money.
spray cap clogged almost immediately. I tried immediately turning the can upside down to clear it out, and there wasn't enough propellant to clear it out. 98% of the can was left basically worthless. I'd buy the competing product from Eastwood as it doesn't clog as easily, and costs less.

Mixed results with MIG welding
I've had mixed results with this product MIG welding on an auto restoration project. When sprayed on very thinly, it worked OK in a few places, but the primer was so thin there that I'm not sure it would be doing its job of protecting the metal. In other cases, where the primer coat might have been a bit thicker, my MIG wire frequently just bounced off and would not strike an arc, even when the wire was cut to a sharp tip. Getting a consistent coat thickness is not easy because the paint is thick with copper particles. In yet other cases, I got lots of splatter when the primer was at the bottom of a hole for a plug weld, leading to some welds that did not penetrate at all. It might be possible to clean the primer out of plug weld holes with lacquer thinner on a Q-tip. Lots of work.Three stars is generous since I've stopped using this product. Perhaps you will have better luck in a different type of use. It has been positively reviewed on an auto restoration site.
