Metal dryer vent from Lowe's was very flimsy and tore easily causing dryer to not dry well. I came on Amazon to find a replacement and there are tons of Chinese items.I ended up checking out virtually all of the options and landed on one that also had a coating on the outside to make it stronger. I can say that the plastic coating does exactly that: it helps control the hose while installing, has a good feel, and is sealed properly around the vent.My item came properly sized and it fit around both hose hookups. You'll notice reviews saying some of the hoses out there are too small which renders it unusable.Also I recommend getting clamps like the one below or something similar which makes installing the hose WAY easier and the cost of the clamp is less as well.-POWERTEC 70120 4 Inch Key Hose Clamp

After comparing many of the flexible duct offerings on Amazon, this one sounded like one of the better options, with 4 layer construction. It turned out to be even better than I expected as far as strength of the flexible material. I expected to snip the wire and quickly run a knife around it to cut it, but took a bit more of a dedicated effort than that to cut it. It wasn't difficult, but a bit more resistant to cutting than I expected - that's definitely a good thing.The clamps provided are nowhere close to the same quality as the duct. The clamps are stamped and have rough edges on the inside all the way around both sides. I had to sand those rough edges or I'm sure the clamps would have cut through the material of the duct. And the screw to tighten the clamp is a 7mm hex head, which of course is not standard in North America. The screw also accepts a Phillips screwdriver, but the recess for the screwdriver is not as deep as most Phillips screws in North America so the screwdriver doesn't fit well. (I tried many of my screwdrivers and the only one that fit well was one that I had filed the point down a bit.)I bought this just for the quality of the flexible duct, since I already had clamps, so I am happy with my purchase. If you are buying this as a complete solution and need to use the clamps that are supplied with it, be aware of the issues mentioned above.

Heavy duty. No worries about tips or tears. Easy to work with. Used it for a cold air return on my hvac.

I used this to vent a floor AC unit out a dryer vent in the wall of an enclosed trailer, Its much better than the plastic factory hose however I was seeing temps of 165F from the Exhaust air the exterior of the duct was hovering around 120F. I ended up adding foil bubble wrap around the hose and got the exterior temp of that down to 82F just above ambient. This made the unit much more efficient!

Heavier construction and double layered (will not call it insulation)I have purchased a same length ventilation tubing from a local store for a slightly lower price but this item is much better quality. I did not need the whole length. I just bunched up a 90 degree elbow section and taped it around with and electrician tape.

Suprisingly high quality, looks a bit small but fits perfectly.
