Pokemon Platinum [Japan Import]

This item is 100% authentic at least the one I bought was and it plays well no issues! I wanted to replay Platinum but in Japanese for fun and if you're looking for a cheaper alternative this is it as the English copies are in the $100 range.

My Japanese is ok so I can read the hiragana and katakana but I usually can't understand it. I've shown it to my roomate a few times when I got stuck to translate but it wasn't often; I might've used a guide here and there too. I wanted this game so I could chain for shiny Japanese Pokemon with the Pokeradar and I did just that getting three shiny slakoth from a swarm in Eterna Forest, shooting for a bigger variety but Shiny Vigoroth and Slaking sound good to me. I'm happy I got this game but I don't love it like I do HG/SS or even B2/W2. Chaining shiny pokemon takes lots of patience and It's disappointing to have your chain broken after you put lots of time into it. Though it takes commitment, there is a high percentage encounter rate for shiny Pokemon grass patches the higher your chain (max at 40). This version is cheaper than the American one on Amazon at least for used copies but the prices will vary. I got it for around 25 dollars which I thought was a good deal for an authentic Japanese Pokemon game. Good task for those interested in learning to read beginners Japanese.

Better than original

I did not know it was in Japanese. I had to go out and but another one on English. I always thought they were in English. I will look from now on before I purchase them.

It arrived adequately bubble-wrapped and in a timely manner. The case and booklet were not advertised, but also came with it which was a pleasant surprise! The game card is working perfectly and authentic. Personally tested to work on a US DSi, [old] 3DS, and [New] 3DS XL. Does NOT work on US DS lite

I give it 3 stars because it is fun but hard to play in Japanese version and I play it on dsi xl
