Dependable, sturdy, simple, classic.
This company has been around a while, and for good reason. It's sturdy, the range of weight and increments give you a lot of flexibility with use, simple mechanism, and the fact that this particular model is expandable is a great value if you're just starting out and want to have the option of growing. As long as you know what you're getting, this is a great adjustable dumbbell. Newer types of adjustable dumbbells are in the more traditional shape, but there's a cost and complexity that comes along with them that make them less reliable.

Best Buy For The Money lb per lb
This set of dumbbells are awesome. First they are a great space saver. Second, they are safe and quick to adjust. Also, there are many other mechanical adjustable dumbbells that are similar but the weights get stuck as the locking system wares down over time. However, this system is not mechanical, the adjustable pin system is easy to use and never fails to slide out the weight amount as you need, it's full proof and they never get stuck. The paint finish and quality are excellent. Also, I like the smaller foot print of their design and I though they would be awkward to handle but just the opposite is true. Since they are compact I feel I can handle the heavier weight with more control. I am close to 60 and for me 50 lbs is probably enough for most exercises, but for certain exercises such as shoulder shrugs I can still jump up to 70lbs on each hand. I like that I can increase to 90 lbs but I probably won't need to get there I my age. Regardless, if you're not a professional body builder and plan on exceeding 90lbs on each hand these are a great deal and product. I am extremely happy I bought them as they have done an amazing job with the design and the person who created this system really though outside the box. Oh and by the way, the box design is also a bonus especially when you go heavy and you plant them on top of your knees to kick them up for a dumbbell press. You'll see if you buy them. BTW, I don't have any endorsement with this company I just was impressed with the overall value I received, I know a good product when I use one and this is a great product.

These Really Are The World's Best Dumbbells!
The durability on these dumbbells are far beyond expectations. I recently purchased my second pair. My son moved out to college, so I gave him my older version I bought 21 years ago which almost look and function like the day I bought them (ofcourse with some scratches) Viewers say you can't drop them and yes it's true to a certain extent. But over 21 years there have been times I mistakenly did drop them. No damage just scratches.LET'S GET TO BUSINESS!PROS:Fast AdjustingVery DurableLess Wider than most adjustable dumbbellsEasy On your thighs because they're flat at the endsDon't Rattle as muchBeing Square will NEVER roll off on youExpandable (you're not obligated to purchase highest weight)2.5 lbs IncrementsGreat Customer ServiceFeel really good in your handCONS:Slightly Expensive (buy once... cry once)Shouldn't Be DroppedYou Pass On, a family/friend will inherit them 😆

Sturdy and efficient
I’m skeptical of all multi-weight dumbells. I bought the powerblock dumbells because there was no “plastic turn mechanism” like most adjustable dumbells on the market. I read a lot of reviews that those plastic parts break often due to the aggressive constant use. I have only had the power blocks for about 2 weeks and so far I love them. This is not a longevity review, I have no info on that, but first impressions of using these dumbells for two weeks are phenomenal. I do different movements with chest, back, legs, arms and shoulders every day. They feel terrific in my hands and are not as bulky as I originally predicted. The 50lb setting isn’t any bigger than what a normal 50lb dumbell would be. They seem to perform well to all my movements. I get a little worried setting them down too fast on my concrete floor, I do not want to damage them, but that’s more of a personal topic since I don’t have rubber mats. Overall, I bought these dumbells for $300, that’s $150 each for 10 dumbells (5-50lbs) so together it comes out to $15 per dumbell. I think it’s an absolute steal. I very much recommend these and I will be buying the expansions to increase the weight in the future (another reason I chose this set!)

Better than expected - love the powerblocks!
I bought these based on the vast number of people that seem to love them and say that they'll last a lifetime. I admit I was skeptical about the design - sticking my hand inside the box did NOT look comfortable. Fortunately, I had nothing to worry about - the weights feel natural and easy to grasp and lift in a variety of exercises and configurations. I typically start my easiest exercises with just the bare frame, which is 5 pounds by itself and can have the 2 2.5-pound "adder" weights to get to 10 pounds. Then the next frame/weights start at 15 without the adder weights, 17.5 pounds with one adder weight, 20 pounds with both adder weights. Each subsequent frame starts at 15, 25, 35, etc. Even though I read reviews saying that they can feel unbalanced for exercises like bicep curls, that has not been my experience. In the two weeks since I got the powerblocks, I've actually progressed from maxing out bicep curls at 15 pounds to 22.5! Overall, these are helping me keep good form while progressing slowly to increase weight and Lift Heavy Stuff (LHS for you ladies who know what I mean). As someone who hates going to a gym, these are the best purchase I've made for home workouts. Cannot recommend enough!
