Perfect Anderson window replacement

Some Q&A's and reviews have this mixed up, so let me clarify for you: This is as pictured, for a RH Andersen casement window, with the locks on the Right Hand side when you are looking out. That means the hinges and the handle you turn are on the left when you are looking out, and the window swings out from the right over towards the left side like when a RH batter swings a baseball bat. Ok? Ok.Instructions gave me a laugh, though: Says to "use the larger replacement screws in the package instead of the original screws". Nice, makes sense, because replacement screws that are a little larger than the originals will snug up better in dried out old wood, right? Except that their shiny new screws are actually *SMALLER* than the old original ones! Useless!! So DO NOT TOSS YOUR OLD SCREWS, you're gonna want to use them over!Seemed a tad rough to operate the first time or two opening & closing, but gears come well greased and once that stuff works its way around the parts it works just as smooth as a baby's... well, you know. Sturdy and perfect. Thank you to seller "Window Parts", well done lads.

just purchased and used 3 of these.. This replacement part works just like the window's original and was super easy to install (but as suggested by other reviewers, do re-use your old longer screws to install as the new ones sent with this product are way to short). Was a bit disappointed that the glide foot that runs on the window's sash bottom edge track is still being made from plastic as this is what had failed on 2 of the 3 windows I needed to fix (and looks like the new plastic is not as substantial) . Did not need to replace the straight track on the bottom of each window sash so including this piece in the product package seems a waste of resources, (omit this piece and then improve the plastic foot, or lower the price). Overall this product sure beats replacing the entire window unit, glad it was available!

This is the second time this opener has been replaced. The gears were stripped on the first one and the inner retainer that holds the crank stem into the mechanism broke on the second. Not impressed with Andersons design for durability. Not impressed with the price difference of identical openers, when the one has a one inch longer straight arm and is one and a half times the price of the shorter unit.

My windows are 40 years old. I like that the parts are still available but feel they are somewhat overpriced. Also I am replacing one that I had replaced just 2 or three years ago. I think they should last longer for the money.

Same quality as original window.

This replaces the original perfectly but don't last long at all. This is the third one I have bought in 3 years. Even after sporadic use the center "screw" comes loose from its base and is the product is useless. I would expect better quality for the price paid. The manufacturer needs to figure out a better way to secure the bottom of the screw to the unit with better materials or something.
