Worx 20V 12" 3-in-1 Cordless String Trimmer/Lawn Edger/Mini Mower, WG170.9

This company is EXCELLENT!!!! I cannot sing their praises enough!! Customer service is a BREEZE !and their tools are POWERFUL and get the job done! I have gotten some good deals, GREAT Customer support and service, and great life and use out of the many WORX gardening tools I have and use (i.e. Lawnmower, blower, trimmer, etc). Now, I will get a shearer for some extra plants I have now. This trimmer is SO VERSATILE! It just is great as BOTH an edger and as trimmer (Weed hacker). My grass is SUPER THICK, and I have so much to edge (due to a lot of Stones and paths). With this trimmer, ..thanks to its versatility in switching from trimmer to edger and back again... I get it done MUCH FASTER (unlike the Black and Decker that I used to have...which would Hhhhm and Haaww...and was harder to work with, not to mention was almost twice as heavy) this lightweight thing gets to WORK and it WORX!!!!....chopping through thick weeds like a butter knife! I feel like a Garden Ninja, almost using the trimmer. Easy and powerful. The Price is GREAT! You are not getting overcharged and get a quality powerful product. It's a USA company and the customer support is GREAT and COMMUNICATION excellent for all the tools that I've order so far. I have several batteries that are ALL interchangeable and swap out, they charge very quick especially if you buy a Quick charger. the 40V batteries last so long, I don't need to recharge it if I'm doing front yard and backyard of a 3 bedroom / 2 bathroom house. So I love the Quick charger, sometimes when the Battery does run out when I'm using it on the other tools (blower to get the leaves out during the fall). Been using Worx since summer 2020 and no complaints and have gotten a nice set of tools!

This is my third in 5 years. On the first, the string fed continuously after 2 years. On the second, the cutting feature on the shroud wore out and there is no way to replace it, meaning the line is not automatically cut to the correct length and “flaps” rendering it unusable. Good product. Lasts approx 2 years with moderate use.

I love this is my second one I buy I love the fact that you can release the string manually and it's when you want it to release it not automatic where it releases it constantly

I already own several different sizes of batteries in this platform so the tool only price is good. It is definitely light enough for me with a bad back. My corded previous one was just too front heavy and caused me to lean forward while holding it up. This is MUCH better. The pole length adjustment is also nice because being 6ft4, most are too short. This extends long enough that I don't have to lean forward. Also, it shortens up that I can get the weeds on top of the tie wall without having to hold it awkwardly. The edger feature with the wheels did work well as position goes. It definitely has the power to do it. The "command feed" feature is really handy but it takes getting used to at first. Once I got the hang of it, wow, I feel spoiled. Also, the spool holder add-on to the handle is a nice touch to keep a spare spool with the tool. I appreciate that they demonstrate how one can re-wrap the line spools oneself. The line the tool ships with is just too light for my weeds apparantly and I use a heavier line. The heavier line, by the way, helps the edger function do a much better job.

I had one of these from 2013, it lasted 10 years so I'm happy with that. It was a great weed whacker! This is pretty much the same. Very light, it's comfortable while using it. It's telescopic so you can adjust it to your height. The only downside I noticed is that it seems the string runs out faster. It looks by appearance it's the same amount as my old one. I don't think the spool should run out after using it 2 or 3 times. I started using it in May and I'm already on the last spool they provided. I can't remember if it's 3 or 4 they sent, but like I said, I'm on the last one and I need to reorder some spools. This has a button on it to release more string which my old one didn't have, maybe that's it? It still doesn't deter me from wanting another down the road. I hope this lasts me at least 10 years as my old one. Believe me, it was used alot!

This is my second one. The first one lasted over five years. It’s the only one I found that does not hurt my neck and shoulders and is so lightweight that I can hold onto it for quite some time. It works fantastic. I love this line of products. In fact I just ordered the pruning shears and I can’t wait to try those.

I have been a customer of Worx products for 14 yrs. This latest tool failed in only 3 mos. The line cutter is missing and the line feeds uncontrollably to the point of not functioning. I called customer service for help. The first call ended in them disconnecting me due to high call volume. I then called first thing this morning. They will send me a new safety assembly free of charge, but only after I send them an email with a screen shot of my Amazon order. They gave me a 16 character address to send it to. Hope I transcribed right. Sounds like I will be lucky to get a replacement part in 3 weeks. I don’t understand why giving them the Amazon order number over the phone is not sufficient, along with the tool serial number. I had a much different and satisfying customer service experience with Worx 10 years ago. Something has changed. A tool shouldn’t break after 9 uses. And beware, you only get free shipping on warranty parts for six months. Edit- they sent me the replacement part in 3 days. This was much better than initially quoted. Thanks for this good customer service. 2nd edit: I received the new safety guard and installed it and used it one time. Here is a photo of the string cutter after one use. You can compare it to the brand new cutter photo. I believe this assembly will end in premature failure like my initial unit with the cutter blade loosening and lost. At that point the trimmer tool is useless. Can anyone out there help me? I have had other models of Worx trimmers and never experienced this infant mortality syndrome. 3rd and final edition: I pursued this defect with Worx customer service for an hour via phone. They maintain this is simply a normal “wear and tear” situation and not covered by their warranty. It’s astonishing that they refuse to acknowledge that this is clearly a design and/or manufacturing defect. This trimmer becomes unusable without the line cutter. And the line cutter should not fail after just a few uses. My path forward now is to get my money back from Amazon or my credit card company. I plan to file formal complaints with BBB as well as the Consumer Products Safety Commission as this is a safety hazard. I am completely shocked at the ignorance and callousness of Worx and will never buy another product from them.

I have given it 5 stars as it is the bees knees. BUT. Ensure when purchasing a - one battery fits all - that it is for the U.K. market. Apparently the one I received within a couple of days was for the US. The battery is a larger size fitting. Lovely bit of kit though. I had to send it back and reorder the U.K. one.
