I love these stay fractions! I used them at my previous school, and now I use them as the math specialist on my campus for equivalency, comparing, and adding and subtracting fractions. Students get to manipulate the fractions and explore! I highly recommend them. The tower makes it easy to compare several fractions at once!

My students love to play with these! This is by far my favorite set of fraction manipulatives. Having the white column always present while putting on and removing pieces helps them to keep in mind what one whole looks like and how it compares to the pieces they’re using. It’s also great for comparing fractions. I can put 5/8 on on column and 6/10 on the column next to it. It’s a great tool for small group instruction and/or whole classroom instruction because it sits upright on a table or you can hold it up for everyone to see. I love this so much more than the fraction cubes you can link together; sometimes the ends of those get bent and then they don’t fit together anymore.

I bought two sets of these and and a blank die and made a game. This product is engaging just as it is, but when you limit the fractions on a die to one half (2), one third, one forth (2), and one fifth and they run out of those pieces as they race to build a given number of towers, they automatically begin to find equivalent fractions. My first and second graders love it, and they don’t have any idea they are learning concepts technically a above their grade level.
