Cable Matters 2-Pack 6 Gbps Shielded eSATA Cable 6 Feet

I have a hard drive dock that works with either USB or eSATA connections. The eSATA is a lot faster. With the new computer, I had to add the eSATA connection. The old one had the a jack on the front, so I could use a shorter cable. These work just fine.

I used these to connect the expansion drives of my Synology NAS to the main unit. It worked fine for a couple of months but then the expansion bays stopped automatically powering up. I replaced the cable and it worked again, however this time I replaced it with a more expensive Synology cable - that's been working fine for a year now compared to the short lifespan of this cable.Also note that the cable was in a fixed position, the drives do not get moved or even touched so a random failure like this isn't great.

Was a bit apprehensive at the price, but figured would give a try. Needed some eSATA cables for connection between some older devices. VERY heavy cable. Looks like solid construction. Don't see how more expensive cables could be made much better.

Work as I expected them to do. Nothing wrong with them. Just cables.

Ever handle a good quality cable and be like.. hmm, nice. That's this cable. Good quality insulation and connectors, solid connection without being overly stiff. Recommend.

I have an external Mecury Elite 6TB drive and these cables WOULD NOT recognize this particular drive while another cable that I already had works fine with this drive. Anyway I pulled another external drive with ESATA capabilities and these cables work fine??????? Stinking computers. I think these cables work for most people and devices but NOT the MERCURY ELITE.

Good cables with a decent length.
