Superchunk's Steve Albini-produced sophomore effort put the Chapel Hill kids on the map with huge guitars and perennial faves like "Skip Steps 1 & 3". The LP reissue is on 180 gm vinyl and includes a coupon for an MP3 download of the entire album.

This album has brought me so much joy in my life.
This is my favorite album of all time. This is not my favorite album by Superchunk. This is my favorite album of all time. A lot of people might say the Beatles White Album or The Beach Boys Pet Sounds or something like that is their favorite album of all time. This is my favorite album. I probably average listening to it once a week for the past 20 years.I've bought this album several times before. Two hard copy CDs (got too scratched), vinyl (I don't own a record player, I wanted the big cardboard jacket to hang up), one copy on emusic (remember emusic? does that count?), I bought the remastered version hard copy CD, but I had already pre-ordered it on itunes and forgot and now I am buying it again because it is $5.I now have children and they are a aware of No Pocky for Kitty. We purchase pocky whenever we see it, munch on it, point at each other and say "No Pocky for Kitty" we laugh and laugh. And then we listen to No Pocky for Kitty. They like it alright, but my daughter is more into Hyper Enough on Here's Where the Strings Come In and I catch my son singing "Me and You and Jackie Mitoo" from their latest. I can understand why this might not be a young child's favorite album, what with the Frozen soundtrack out there and whatnot, but I am glad they put up with it.

Superchunk...
kinda sorta defies definition and kinda sorta don't. if forced to offer a label, i guess 90s sounding low-fi indy power-pop with lots of whirring guitar and distorted vocals. yes, that's a good thing. this is my favorite s.c. album. seed toss, cast iron, skip steps one and three are home runs. great on a hot summer day, kinda like today. buy.

This one is a must have ripper- super high energy blasts of greatness...songs like Punch me harder, Skip steps- highly recommended. Pick up "On The Mouth" while you're at it.

Great alt/post/pop-punk
I can't believe I'm only the second person to review this album on here. This album is great from start to finish. My favorite songs are probably Skip Steps 1 and 3 and Throwing Things, but really every song is great. If you love loud, melodic rock music you need to to buy this cd (or record) now! Along with some other Superchunk releases.

Great album
I bought a book for school, they gave me a five dollar credit. The past week I searched Wal-Mart for a CD by Superchunk but with no success. Since there is no other places to buy CDs it seems like,I used my credit for this direct download thing.
