Octopath Traveler (Nintendo Switch)

I bought this for my sister but I was told it's very good. I want to play it myself after seeing the trailer.

The game is a love letter to the early NES JRPG games of my youth. The graphics are incredible despite emulating the pixel sprites of early game consoles. The turn-based combat and weakness system is intuitive and makes many major boss fights almost puzzle like in nature. Each character has their own story to explore across the land, and will find their paths intersect along the lives of any of the other 7 characters. It is highly recommended you seek out all 8 characters, but you can play out each characters story individually if you so choose. I picked this up when I saw the trailer for the upcoming sequel and was more than thrilled when I realized this was going to easily be a 100+ hour game with loads of story to discover and an incredible area to explore. The game has many additional features that may otherwise spoil certain aspects of the game, but know that the game is multi-layered and complex, while still keeping the system simple and familiar. If you even so much as have a small interest in this game, pick it up. You'll won't regret it.

Escribiré esta reseña en español porque veo que ya hay muchas en inglés, es un excelente juego y aunque se encuentre más caro en switch solo por jugarlo en portátil vale la pena pagar un poco más, es increíble este juego, como dato curioso es que compré la versión Europea de esta publicación y aun así recibí la version Estadounidense que se produciendo menos copias pero la versión Europea es igual de funcional y posee el mismo contenido que la versión Estadounidense, así que considero que aún vale la pena comprarlo

An incredible throwback RPG to the 16bit era with a gorgeous world to explore. I can't say enough good things about this game.

Interesting story and nice design

I purchased this game on Thursday and was expected to get it on Sunday. What about a day later I was told that I was going to get it on Saturday. Now Saturday just received it. I didn't hesitate to start playing it. So glad to get it from the seller since it's been difficult to go to any store and buy it since they're hard to find. Friand de jrpg et bercé aux Final Fantasy, Chrono Trigger et autres Secret of mana, voici mon avis au bout d’une cinquantaine d’heures de jeu (j’estime en être à la moitié) : Les + - Graphiquement très joli - Ecriture réussie, traduction exemplaire - 8 histoires simples et agréables à suivre - Certains passages étonnamment matures - 8 personnages aux compétences complémentaires - Les interactions avec les pnj - Système de combat riche et tactique - Rythme de jeu équilibré - Environnements variés - Musiques agréables - Difficulté au poil - Durée de vie honorable - Des points de sauvegardes à chaque coin de rue - Des passages secrets un peu partout Les - - Carte peu lisible - Quêtes annexes pas très explicites - Toujours le même schéma pour les 8x4 chapitres : ville / donjon / boss - Pas assez d’interactions entre les 8 personnages - Les talents uniques de certains personnages plus ou moins utiles - Pas de mini-jeux ou activités annexes - Des boss qui sont des sacs à PV, et ne posent pas réellement de problèmes Octopath Traveler rend un brillant hommage aux jrpg d’antan. Hypé comme beaucoup par les généreuses démos, le jeu ne m'a pas déçu. Comme en amour, les défauts ne gâchent en rien le charme fou que dégage l’expérience. Il titillera avec brio la fibre nostalgique des uns, et enchantera les autres. On a frôlé la perle vidéo-ludique avec cette exclusivité sur Switch ! Vivement la suite qui ne saura qu’être meilleure !

Gioco davvero molto interessante, arrivato nei tempi corretti e funzionante. Tutto perfetto. Lo consiglio se siete fan del genere e anche se non lo siete dato che è un buon inizio per approcciarsi ai giochi più classici di Square Enix
